Great place! Went for lunch on a Sunday and was seated right away. Service was quick and our server was excellent. I would... highly recommend the perogies appetizer, it was delicious. Good amount of options on the menu and it seemed like everything wasreasonably priced. Would go again. Update from a few months later: we went back and it's still great! Great food and atmosphere. The menu has some great European options as well as everyday favorites. Service was great also.
The service was great and the food was served piping hot. My only issue was with that all of the food (aside the potato... pancake) were much too sweet for my tastes. It was well prepared, but if you're not very tolerant to sugar, be cautious withthe menu. Read more
Amazing food! The spicy fish tacos and fish and chips we ordered were fantastic & so was the soft pretzel with beer cheese dip.... Just wish the restaurant looked a bit better on the inside. Read more
I haven’t been to Olde New York for a few years after terrible service a couple of times in a row. Being from Brooklyn I’m... excited to say this is no longer the case. The service was good and the food was outstanding! Diana had the Reuben and I had thehomemade Italian sausage with linguine. Both were top notch. Olde New York is a German style bar and restaurant, but also has some deli style sandwiches as well. Most of the beers are... German style as well. The service wasn’t terrible, but the bartender did not seem like he wanted to be there. The pierogieswere really good and they were topped with cheese, onions and bacon. I got the Brooklyn sandwich, but it was pretty dry in myopinion. It had a horseradish sauce, but there was hardly any on the sandwich. They make a pretty good potato salad as well. Read more
I like the atmosphere here, but the service and food weren’t that good. I won’t be coming back. The price is not worth it... for the below-average food. Pierogies (6/10): I actually liked these. I wish they were more crispy. But they were creamy andgood. They had a special homemade taste to them. NY Strip (2/10): Terrible steak. Steak was so chewy, with lots of tendoninside. I ordered a mid-rare, and it came out rare (check photo). The mushrooms and onions were very soggy and seemed likethey’d been sitting for a while. We were at State College this weekend and went to Old New Yorke after the Penn State hockey game . We got there around 845pm.... The staff was so friendly and accommodating for our party of 7. The food was excellent and our waiter was phenomenal! I have nothad service like that at a restaurant since before Covid ! Drinks were great and came out so fast ! I cannot say enough goodthings about this place ! The atmosphere, the food , the wait staff were phenomenal and we cannot wait to go back ! Read more
