Is Pita Cabana authentic? No. I must have had hundreds of gyro/doner/shawarma in my life and have never seen shawarma served... like this (meat with cheese and toasted like a quesadilla). Ok, but is it tasty? I mean, if your definition of tasty isunderseasoned fries and meat with cheese in pita with nothing fresh or bright in the vicinity, go for it. Lebanese food isserved with fresh vegetables/salad to balance and brighten things, which you’d assume a “platter” would come with.Unfortunately not. Top 5 restaurants in State College. Delicious, big portioned and cheap. The Satsah Chicken Platter (+ extra chicken) was... absolutely amazing. So good. And for the price, definitely worth it. Great portion, ate this to end a fast. I was very full atthe end and I’m a big eater. Tender chicken, great marinade, great flavors. The perfect meal. Roommates got the GranadaSandwich chicken and couldn’t only finish half. Was also very good. Read more
Ordered chicken shawarma plate and was so bad, it was the end of the shawarma that they have and most of the chicken I got was... fat and skin which is disgusting for me. Also ordered Falafel rice plater and it was one of the worst Falafel I’ve evertried. Our third order was gyro rice plater which was eatable but will never order it again. Lady who’s taking ordersdoesn’t have idea about Arabic food. I might go again to try the whole chicken with rice. Read more
Their Shistawook platter (comes with chicken) is highly recommended. Tried it 3 times till now. Loved it every time . Their... salad items are also fresh and delicious. Food served are halal. Lebanese style chicken, lamb grills are great too! Read more
Definitely a great place for Mediterranean food. The quantity they give is huge. Hummus and baba ganoush exemplify the taste. We... took rice bowls and felt very heavy. I think sandwich is a better option as it’s grilled and this carries heat into the food.The price is also very affordable. The bowls come in 2 sizes (regular and large). Sandwich comes only in one size though. Iwould strongly recommend people to try this. If there are any vegetarians reading this, Falafels here are the best I have had!!So I recommend trying this place. Read more
I've been eating here occasionally for over 5 years. The food is consistently great. I would describe it as a more flavorful,... Middle Eastern "Chipotle". The vegetables are always fresh. My favorites include the chicken shawarma, and the tzatziki sauce(see pictures) Read more
I am Lebanese, and I am very disappointed. To be fair, I tried the restaurant three times (Dine in) prior putting a review and... I had bad experience in all of them. To start with the ingredient listed snack pass(in store online service), are different fromthe one provided in sandwiches (not updated). The shawarma on tablet is listed with garlic, Lebanese coleslaw and fries whilethe one served is cucumber!!! lettuce and different sauce. I don't understand the audacity of someone putting cucumber withchicken and call it shawarma as well as Lebanese!!. It is very important to me to let people be aware that the food at PitaCabana has nothing to do with Lebanese food and I would never repeat the experience. I even guided the staff with how to make mysandwich so I can enjoy the meal but also failed to deliver, he did not know what garlic is and he works at Lebanese restaurant.Shame! Read more
