I was taken back 30 years, as long as my memory allowed, back to an old school Italian restaurant with mouthwatering traditional... food and a friendly, attentive waiter. Dessert was delicious! Next time I'm taking my friends there with me. It's located at theend of a dead end little street. There is a sign on the Lily pond road. The red roof house is on the next corner towards thebridge. We went for dinner. The restaurant was mostly empty. Two other tables were occupied. Nice atmosphere and nice, attentive waiter.... My husband got bucatini amatriciana and I had veal basilio. He liked the bucatini and I guess I should have ordered that too.The veal was disappointing. It was tough and had no flavor. I was also not expecting it to come with half cooked green beans anda few little chunks of potato. I gave the beans to my husband- he will eat them crunchy- and I also gave him a piece of theveal. He gave me some of his pasta because I went there wanting pasta and thought the veal would come with pasta. I was stillhungry so I got tiramisu for dessert. It was oddly tasteless but at least it filled me up and we didn?t need to stop atMcDonald?s on the way back to our hotel. Maybe I should have ordered something else, but honestly there was not much on the menuthat appealed to me and it was nothing like the menus in the pics online. We are just passing through town but if I lived here Iwouldn?t go back. Read more

This restaurant is a staple. It's authentic Italian comfort food will warm your heart. The owner is most gracious and very... available. Is wine selection is outstanding and it changes often. And you don't get hit over the head with the markup on thewine like some restaurants. Read more

I wish I?d taken pictures of more but, what a delightful find as we were passing through the borough. Everything was spot on -... simple, flavorful, and not overly done. We enjoyed the food and the conversation with the owner. Thank you from the folks fromPhilly. Read more

Welcome to one of Staten Islands oldest but best kept secrets! Basilio Inn has been open for business over 100 years yet I... never heard of it. This is an excellent, simply designed place to enjoy true Italian culinary treats. The food is excellentas you can see in my pictures, the service is old school attentive and the dessert will not disappoint! Finding this wellhidden gem was a bit of an isssue but not their fault. The GPS takes you to the back. Go to Lily Pond Ave and you will see thesign to the front door. A definite 5***** Star pizzaman rating! Read more

Comfy authentic Italian cuisine over 100 years in the biz. Not popping with flavor yet decent comfort traditional Italian... flavors. Portions are generous and prices are great compared to the more trendy spots. The highlight might be their big dessertsshareable for 2. Definitely worth a try. Read more
