Not sure how this place has such a high rating. I hadn’t been here in years & happened to be on the Island & remembered it... being really good, but today my sushi was not edible (I threw away the spicy tuna roll & I do not like to waste food). Thespicy tuna roll had zero flavor, tasted like nothing, just a mushy texture in my mouth. Shrimp tempura roll had no shrimptaste, just a hot crunch. I ordered a spicy scallop roll. She asked if I wanted crunch, so I said yes, well it was basically acrunchy roll with a few tiny lil pieces of scallop. Got all of this with brown rice, which looked oddly colored purple,wasn’t very appetizing. The rolls fell apart when I was trying to eat them & I am adept at using chopsticks. The seaweedsalad & miso soup were tasty! My sister loved the gyoza & said the sweet potato rolls were delicious, hence the 2 stars. However, the sushi in my eyes I would give zero stars, but just can’t give a horrible review like that, sadly though this is asushi joint, it’s in the name Genki Sushi. Will sadly not be going back, at least not for sushi. Maybe the restaurant wasjust having an off day, thank goodness this was all on lunch special, would have been worse having paid full price for it. Wouldn’t recommend for sushi! Read more
