Cute little spot for lunch. Had a moment with hubby for his birthday. Food was okay. Not anything to write home about. My... husbands plate had a strand of hair in his eggs. I was not happy about it, but hubby didn't want to make a big deal about it.Had chicken and waffles. Chicken was good, but the waffle was bland. Hubbys steak was good. The staff was nice and our waitresswas very pleasant. Even tho the food was okay I would go back again for the service. Try something else on the menu. Read more
Dinner at J's On The Bay! They recently went through a full renovation with a revamped menu which I was very excited to try. For... an appetizer we got the mozzarella sticks. These aren?t just any ordinary frozen mozzerella sticks, they are homemade withlioni?s mozzarella and their own garlic breadcrumbing, along with a side of vodka sauce. For entrees we got drunken dumplings,which are ricotta gnocchi with vodka sauce, and the carbonara pasta. In addition, we were also given mini foccacia bread stylepizzas. Sharp decor, friendly wait staff and really great food. They brought warm croissants with some sort of heavenly spread. Shrimp... cocktail and lobster roll were totally worth the price tag. Fried chicken and waffles was very tasty. Read more
Absolutely FANTASTIC food, love the ambiance/vibe/decor. Such HIGH quality food for a reasonable price. The staff is so friendly... and sweet as well. This place is literally one of my favorite restaurants on SI to date. Wow. Don?t believe the other negativereviews. This isn?t your basic boring 2 eggs and toast diner food. 10/10 Read more
Absolutely amazing food!!!! Just wow. I got the brunch burger and it was absolutely fantastic. Zero complaints. The food came... out at a decent time and our waitress was so friendly. I will definitely be going back. The outdoor seating made it feel like Iwas in a different country. So aesthetic and gorgeous. Please go and see for yourself! Read more
Fantastic! They just did a full renovations on this place and it came out beautiful. And best part is the food is still... delicious. Started with a warm focaccia bread with some ice cold NYC water to open up the palette. This time we tried mozzarellabattens also the Burger and drunken dumplings (dont let name fool ya) its a pasta dish and its off the hook. The vodka sauce wassome of the best i ever had. The owner Joe out did himself again. What a great environment perfect for date night or even aquick bite. The wait staff was great George explained some of the dishes. One thing it was lacking was alcohol. I hope soon. Butthe food makes up for it. We will be back of course. Read more
I got the country fried chicken and waffles, and it was great! Usually I avoid waffles without syrup because I like things extra... sweet, but the waffle was a great texture and flavor to satiate my sweet tooth well. The chicken was well cooked, and the gravywas the best thing they could have used to pull it all together! My friends and I were all very satisfied with brunch. We evengot muffins and croissants as our free bread. Awesome place! Read more
What a great place! We had the giant breakfast platter, ?My girlfriends not hungry?, a margarita pizza, burger, steak sandwich &... squash soup. This will definitely be on the list of reasons to cross the Verrazano bridge. The service was also excellent! Read more
