Super authentic thai restaraunt, the owner used family recipes, some of which were used at a culinary school in thailand. Each... bite was a complex balance of spicy, sour, and sweet. Read more

Good Thai food. Friendly service. We did take out, everything was packed nicely, I love the drive up window.

Went there for lunch with the ladies from work, it's so good. The spring roll app is absolutely the best, and they bring you... chicken rice soup. Made fresh to order simply delicious. Read more

We been here at least 5 times in the 3 months that we moved to Statesville. Everytime we ate here has been great. I loved how... you can actually get the true traditional version of certain dishes. All you have to do is ask, and they make it. Read more

Pretty good food for a hole in the wall next to the Food Lion. The dining room is clean, quiet, and spacious, if not overly... decorated. Other reviewers' mentions of large portion sizes for the price are definitely correct and they scored high enough onmy "Thai restaurant baseline metric" of chicken pad thai that I'll be back to try other dishes. The tom kha gai has beendelicious and repeatably flavorful the last several times I've visited. I love the vegetables they put in it as well as theamount of vegetables in the pad kee mao! Read more

Really enjoyed the visit. Great service and the food was good. Not Americanized like other Asian restaurants. Eat my full and... still had leftovers. Even my daughter liked it. Read more

I was very excited when I saw that we were getting a new Thai restaurant in this part of Statesville. Finally got to try it... today and unfortunately it did not live up to the reviews that I have seen posted so far. I ordered the Fresh Basil Rolls withShrimp and the Pad Thai lunch with Seafood (shrimp, scallops, and calamari) as the protein, to go. Service was pretty quick, Ihad been told it would be 10 mins and the food was brought out in 5 mins. Interestingly, while I was waiting for my food, Ioverheard the call of another customer trying to place an order, who was told they don?t have spring rolls, as well as anothermenu item (I?m not sure what it was, because the item was not repeated by the woman taking the order) and they were told atleast 2x during the call that the reason they didn?t have those items was because they (Koong Thai) were using anotherrestaurant?s menu. This seemed a bit odd to me, but I had noticed that there were quite a few hand written edits to the copiesof the menus they are currently using (pics below,) so it made some sense after hearing those comments. The basil rolls weregood, but I was a little let down that instead of 2 shrimps being in each roll, it was just one that was butterflied. Itwasn?t that big of a deal and I still enjoyed them. Note, the price was $5.99 for the rolls with shrimp, which is not listed inthe menu I received. On to the Pad Thai?I thought the helping was quite generous and I was excited to dig in. The flavoroverall was good, but I had asked for it to be Medium Hot and there was no spice at all. Again, not a big problem, but I was alittle disappointed. As I kept eating, I started to realize that all I was getting was noodles?where was the seafood?? Ihadn?t yet eaten the 2 shrimps and 1 scallop piece that can be seen in the photo I took before I began eating, so I pulled themaside and began searching through the noodles for more protein. I proceeded to eat the noodles, and pulled out the f Read more
