Unbelievably amazing dining experience. We had the sampler (Amazing) and stuffed cabbage (not your mama?s) and the ultimate... feast: the whole ham hock (only on special or can order days in advance). Served family style with all the braised and redcabbage and spaetzle (think noodle) and delicious, melt in your mouth rolls. The service is on par with any $$$$$ restaurant ata $$ price. Had dinner here, a few weeks ago, for the first time. Easily found right off I-81, lots of parking, friendly wait staff, good... live polka music the night we were there, dark cabin-y ambiance with lots of nutcrackers and such to look at. Good cold beerserved in cold mugs, and most or all the wursts and schnitzels you could hope for this side of the pond. Fast, friendly service,good food and drinks, and a reasonable price. What a find!!! This place is a GREAT authentic German/Swiss eating experience! Homemade everything! Very unique flavor... combinations that all seem to compliment the last. Lovely sides that are bottomless.. an adorable man out front playing theaccordion kicks off the experience in a way that transports you to an older time in a wonderful place! You are not treated likea 4 top table ready to turn out.. but rather invited to enjoy a moment and stay, bask in a delightful dining experience andshare it with those fortunate enough to join you. The atmosphere is immersive and the staff playful and attentive. Vegetarianoptions.. meat lovers.. and THE BOOT beer....!!! An absolute MUST stop if in the area.. We celebrated our anniversary by visiting Edelweiss for the first time. The atmosphere was casual and friendly and we especially... enjoyed the fellas playing in the band outside. They played Happy Anniversary for us to the tune of Happy Birthday. The foodwas good and the portions plentiful. It was fun trying to pronounce the names of the dishes on the menu. I just pointed and toldthe waitress I want that! ???? We had to get dessert to go and we chose black forest cake. We had a wonderful time and the onlyreason I'm deducting a star is the food was good but not great. We didn't really feel like we got the tasting experience ofGerman food that we were expecting. It was breaded pork in gravy with green beans and cabbage that could be found in most anyrestaurant. We were also disappointed in the cake that even though it was moist, it lacked flavor, especially the icing. We willgo here again and try some other choices on the menu. Read more
Great authentic Bavarian atmosphere and cuisine. The food is fantastic and portions are plentiful, served family style. Almost... everything about this place is authentic Bavaria. The menu has plenty of options and the beer selection is substantial. TheirBlack Forest Cake was delicious but it was lacking the kirschwasser flavor. It seems that is just impossible to find in the USbut not everyone likes it. Dinner for two, with two beers and desserts was only about $65. We have come every few years and willcontinue as the quality has been consistent. It really is like a small town Bavarian tavern. Read more
Fun little restaurant off I-81. Rustic inside with large timber walls. We tried the sampler to get a taste of German food. It... was great with 4 different sides and 5 different main course dishes. I would totally rate higher than 5 stars if I could! The coziest place for diner, with extremely friendly servers and awesome... food. Great food recommendations, great atmosphere and Christmas decorations, and helpful and patient (we have 2 toddlers)employees. The lady even taught our 3yr old a song. :-) would recommend to everyone! Read more
