Amazing barbecue! Even as you're getting out of your car at Hard 8 you can smell the delicious aroma of smoked meats. There are... so many great options. We tried chicken, brisket, the jalapeno sausage, poppers, fries, macaroni and cheese, beans, and corn.Everything was delicious, but I'd especially recommend the jalapeno sausage because of the great flavor. There is plenty ofseating and it was really family friendly. They even have a sign posted with instructions for first-timers. Thanks Hard 8! Read more
One of the best things to eat if you visit Texas. The brisket is absolutely amazing!! The jalapeño sausage has definitely got a... good kick. Be prepared for your clothes to smell of smoked meat. It?s awesome haha. Read more
I had to think about this one. 3.5 starts at best. Due to the good feeling atmosphere, The food is good, sorry not great, but... good. Worth going to. Know that there is a lot of smoke, good live music, an out doors feel seating, and freshly mademeats. Enjoy! This is the chicken and baked potato with brisket. Read more

We travel all over and I can honestly say that this place has the BEST Texas BBQ brisket I have ever eaten! Everything about... this place is authentic, rustic, and absolutely delicious. The smoked meat, sides, friendly staff, reasonable prices, rusticdecor, country music, rodeo on TV screens!?!... It's everything you could want from a BBQ smoke house and more! When to the original hard 8 barbecue today out in Stephenville. I was doing some work for my company out there today. My dad... told me to stop by and have a chopped beef sandwich. Which I am really glad I did only spent about $11 on Chopped beef sandwichand a large drink. The barbecue was really good.!!! I would definitely recommend BBQ from this place. They have severaldifferent locations to choose from. But you can't beat the original. This was the first time I've been to this establishment.Everybody that I met inside was nice courteous and kind. The hard eight barbecue was recommended to us and after traveling 45 minutes out of the way we were disappointed by the pulled... pork being sold out by 7pm. The brisket was good, the ribs okay and the chicken satisfactory. There were only two kinds of bbqsauce. It is a buffet style and food was not worth the price. Read more
Wife and i have eaten here before years ago and thankfully we were able to stop again while traveling through. You can smell... the smoked meats while pulling in and the aroma is luring as if I was a carnivore searching for dinner lol. You walk throughwhere the pit area is, that?s where they?re smoking the meats, cooking steaks and you choose your meats. Go inside and get yoursides, we definitely recommend the okra - it?s crisp, seasoned too. The Mac & cheese is fantastic & creamy, the loaded potatosalad is great as well and the mustard base was my choice, corn of the cob was delicious and buttery and the beans areflavorful. The brisket is flavorful, moist and tender, ribs smoked well and seasoned, smoked sausage was okay a little dry formy liking. Definitely recommend this BBQ and I?m not a big rib guy but their ribs and meats are darn good. Read more
