Stopped by for lunch and really enjoyed it. I was initially nervous about the lack of options in a small town, thinking reviews... might be inflated, but they weren?t! Staff was super nice when I came in and the let grab a seat at the bar. I enjoyed a cup oftheir chicken noodle soup, which was great, sampled the salmon cakes, and ordered the fish and chips. Overall, it was a reallysolid meal. What made it even better was the 8oz pour options. A draft lager took my meal over the top - very happy camper. Home brewed kombucha, grass fed beef, and corned beef Reuben..... Every bit delicious, first of all I have to say our server... Michael (I believe that was his name, I am horrible I know) was on point very friendly and took the time to chat with us withoutneglecting his other tables. This is a great little hole in the wall type of place very comfortable and accommodating. TheKombucha was, one an absolutely pleasant surprise, second wonderfully delicious (if you like that sort of thing and even maybeif you don't typically drink it you should try it here) the food was also great as well, my salad was fresh and more than likelychopped to order, the burger really hit the spot, I couldn't have asked for a better meal. The Reuben was outstanding as well,and is another great option from the menu, it was paired with a berry lemonade which was also incredibly good. Super glad we were able to get in 5min before closing and still order our food in comfort. The staff here were extremely... welcoming and hospitable. The menu is probably the perfect size i have seen in a while and not intimidating at all. Read more

I recently moved to Stevenson and have eaten at the Big River Grill twice. Each time I haven't been disappointed with the food... or staff. On my first visit I ordered the Corned Beef Ruben Sandwich - the corned beef is cooked in house and it was one of thebest Ruben sandwiches I've ever eaten. The portion was large enough to take half the sandwich home.. On my second visit, I hadtheir Fish & Chips and it rivaled the Corned Beef Ruben! I especially liked their version of tarter sauce; it is a caper dillaioli sauce. The ambiance is casual and fun with friendly, attentive staff. Great food, excellent service! I'm not easily impressed,..but I have "zero" complaints about this establishment. Highly... recommend! This is how traditional pub/tavern food and atmosphere are supposed to be. Our server Janice was on top of everydetail, and she was the only server with 6 tables including my wife and I, plus a very kind hostess at the door. My Reuben wasperfect, my wife's burger flawless, is it pricey?..yes. is it worth it? Without a doubt. This place is officially one of myall time favorite restaurants. 45 yrs exp. Btw???? excellent. Been here a few times with my wife and always leave very impressed. Everything I've ate so far has been amazing and the staff... is always super nice and attentive. Stopped by again yesterday and my wife had the Thai peanut chicken which is always amazing,and I tried their dinner special which was blackened cajon catfish on top of cheesy grits.
