So, there is a beautiful scenic hike from New Hope to Stockton . About one hour and 15 minutes walk. We did that and enjoyed the... beautiful colors and lights . Got to Stockton , got a beer at the local brewery. The plan was to get an Uber back ?NO driversaround , phone is 1% only , it is getting dark and cold . Boyfriend wants me to walk back another hour and change to the car.No, thank you. He goes. I stay and entered this cozy, romantic restaurant, explained the situation . Not only did they get me acharger for my phone , but allowed me to sit and sip wine while waiting for my rescuer. While waiting , I ordered the trulydelicious Fennel Salad (Finocchio) accompanied by freshly baked rosemary bread with extra virgin olive oil. Trying to besupportive , I call and recite the menu for him. He asks me to put the order for the Grilled salmon with basil lemon sauce ,and I will have the Pet mussels. When he arrives from his adventure , the warm and nicely cooked meal is waiting for us. What atreat! Great food, accommodating , kind and sympathetic service makes up for our miscalculated expedition! I recommend ViaPonte , predicament or not ! Read more

Our food was very good. The rosemary chicken was tender and moist and not over seasoned. The calamari was great. Service was... friendly and helpful. Read more

This is an excellent restaurant and I'm quite surprised at the relatively low overall rating under 4.0 that it currently has. ... I'm not sure exactly what could have been happening such that enough people gave it a very low rating to bring the overall scoredown so much, but our experience was great. The service was excellent - quick, polite, attentive. And the food was fantastic! I tried the cucuzza soup (a Sicilian specialty) which was excellent and the pasta (fusilli I think) with broccoli rabe andsausage which was also amazing. Plus the outdoor seating (basically right on the sidewalk) was very pleasant considering thereis very little foot or car traffic on that street most of the time. And it is BYOB and about 150 feet from Stockton Liquorswhich is one of the best liquor stores in NJ. It's unfortunate that the low rating kept me from trying this restaurant muchearlier. I'm glad I did and definitely recommend it. Read more

A charming little restaurant in the tiny river town of Stockton NJ. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre. The bread to start the... meal seemed to have come from a grocery store. The Caesar salad was OK, undistinguished, but the entree was the realdisappointment. It was the Pescatore, seafood on linguini, supposedly. What I got was a huge bowl of spaghetti with sparsesmattering of mussels, class and a few pieces of calamari, with 1 shrimp. Embarrassing, especially as they make a bog deal onthe menu of saying the use the particular pasta that is traditional for the dish. But the chincy amount of seafood was reallyshocking. The desserts, Lemoncello cake and pistachio cake, were the saving grace. Delicious. Service was friendly if notparticularly attentive. The tables were too crowded, too. I don't think we'll be back. Killed no less than 8 flies buzzing inside the window at our table. Overcooked fusilli pasta floating in oil. Jumbo shrimp... weren't cleaned or deveined. A bad experience overall. Better off eating at the deli a few doors down. Read more
