Came here a year ago, had a terrible experience dining with a large group. Went back last night, and again won’t be going back... anytime soon. You can’t charge NYC prices for sub par food and terrible service. I don’t go out to be spoken down to withmicro aggressions by a so called manager (Eddie) the minute I have an issue with my order (entree was cold/ not what the menusaid it was) and be schooled in a very condescending way. This is high-end restaurant with a menu and prices to match. I had the Cavatelli. It was very good, but it was $38. For that... kind of money, I expect it to be the best Cavatelli I've ever had with amazing and unique flavors. I can't say that was thecase. It was very good but not 'spectacular'. There were appetizers ordered for the table which were good, but again, not out ofthis world. I had vanilla gelato for dessert which was also good, but I've had better. We also had wine and cocktails. Of courseall of this brought the bill up significantly. Everything consumed was a solid 4 star rating. I just can't get to 5 stars. Thepresentation of the food is wonderful, the staff is very nice, the grounds are beautiful, the restaurant is very nice, and theservice is excellent, but this is simply not a place that I'd rush back to spend well over $100/person on. We went to Butterfield for dinner the other night. Our server was nice at first. We ordered cocktails and 2 small plates from... the menu. After about 30 minutes, we realized she probably forgot to put in the order for the cocktails so flagged her down toask. We then repeated the cocktail order again as she didn't remember what we ordered. We ordered our main dishes with her atsome point as well. After another 15-20 minutes, we realized she probably forgot about the small plates we ordered. Severaltables that sat after us had received their cocktails and food. After another ten minutes, our main dishes came out and we toldthe staff member that we never received the small plates we ordered. The server came by and apologized. They offered us a freedessert but we didn't really feel like waiting any longer. Main dishes were pretty good…we had the bucatini and the venison.For the prices, I would definitely expect that service would be a little better. It looked like they were having a busy night sowe would have understood if the server came over to explain that the kitchen was backed up, etc. However, it was pretty clearthat she just forgot to put in half of our order. Absolutely wonderful wine list, menu caters to meat and non meat eaters, for example the roasted acorn beluga lentils entree is... devine or try the trout entree mouth watering, don't leave without trying their butterscotch pudding the best dessert in thehouse. Our server was the best! Read more

Surprised to find a fine dining restaurant in this part of the state. The ambience was relaxed, dim with a good selection of... jazz and candle lit tables. All the staff was friendly and welcoming. I'd rate the starters higher than the entrees but each tohis own. Over all fabulous for a cozy dinner with your better half of even with family. Read more

Delicious meal, terrific staff, lovely location. The menu is seasonal and changes daily. The flavors were all wonderful. The... venison was sent back for a bit more "fire" and came back a perfect medium rate. Our only negative critique is that the portionswere a bit smaller than we anticipated for the price. Read more
