We came here midweek before doing some wine tastings. The reviews were great and my girlfriend and I both love Thai food. They... are currently in their food truck outside of their future building but they had a picnic table outside which is where we ate. Wehad the Pad Thai, green curry, spring rolls and salad rolls. The pad Thai and green curry were excellent and I would definitelyrecommend either. For two people an additional side of rice is probably needed. The spring rolls and salad rolls were alsoexcellent. Overall this was a fantastic meal to have before a day of wine tasting. The staff there were friendly and the foodwas so good. I would definitely eat here again and am looking forward to them being in their new building. Read more
An unassuming little Thai restaurant just west of Johnson City, kind of in the middle of nowhere. Good thing they have good... signage. We ordered Banh Mi in a Bowl, Pad Thai, Spring Roll (Shrimp), Peanut Butter Cookie, and Thai Tea for lunch. The foodwas better than expected considering its location. Great food with good options. A touch more expensive than might be expected, but probably worth it for most people. The menu is... varied, with options for everyone including vegans and vegetarians. (The menu also notes which dishes contain fish sauce, forwhich I am deeply grateful.) There is also a broad range of spice options, with real Thai level spice available onrequest. Indoor seating is charming, but still connected to a gas station. Outdoor seating is very very nice. The onlydownside is that the kitchen can get backed up when busy, so plan for possible delays when getting your food. Stronglyrecommended for anyone passing through, probably worth a stop on a trip. Was not expecting this quality of food from a Thai place in Johnson city. The corn fritters were great, and I loved the addition... of Thai basil. Curry fried rice was really good with tender chicken but maybe a touch heavy on the salt. Fried chicken was topnotch with an excellent crispy exterior. Hidden gem in Johnson City. As fate would have it this is one of the best Thai places in the entire Hill Country and it?s... attached to a convenient store. All ingredients were super fresh. I got the Crazy Tiger. Mixed greens and ribeye over rice.Enjoy. Read more
This place is worth your visit! We went here for lunch and it was not packed (fortunately). It is our first time to visit this... restaurant that have inside and outside seating. A lady who was assisting all orders were patient and nice to get everyone'sorder. The place was so simple, they use mostly natural lights and they are connected to a small convenience store (gas stationstore alike). The inside sitting was spacious and can surely cater groups of people (dine in). While we decided to eat outsidewhere they have long table and chairs ready. We ordered "Crying Tiger" and "Fried Pork Spring Rolls" and it was DELICIOUS! Theherbs, condiments, marination and combination of these foods was perfect for our taste. The tenderness of the meat was really onpar, I am kind of sensitive with meat as I do have braces and it is a struggle to chew. But this meat was really good andtender. Absolutely amazing Thai food. We had the shrimp fresh rolls and Pad Thai, which were probably one of the best we've ever had.... Amazing stop on our way home from Fredericksburg. Don't miss Hye Thai if you're in the Fredericksburg area. Tiny town ofapproximately 500 is home to several wineries and this fantastic Thai restaurant, and much more. Delicious, spicy, healthy and consistently well prepared. I eat here at least once a week and am always well taken care of by... the entire family and staff. I cannot recommend Hye Thai enough when passing through the area, this is a must stop for a goodreliable meal out on the wine trail. Read more
