The chicken subs were actually pretty decent!
Waited 40 minutes while two employees slowly and sloppily made 5 sandwiches for my family and 1 ?pizza?; all 5 sandwiches ended... up having incomplete ingredients (ex. no cheese or sauce on the chicken parm, less than half the normal amount of meat on allthe subs). The pizza tasted worse than cheap microwave frozen pizza. Amato?s proper is normally 5 out of 5 stars (I?ve beenhundreds of times over the last 30 years) but this gas station counter is far below their normal standards. This may not be immediately apparent when you check their website, but this is a counter within a gas station run by a high... school dropout. Even with our expectations now significantly lowered, the food was terrible. The pizza was cafeteria food heatedin a toy pizza oven. The sandwich bread was disgusting. Too bad, because the sandwiches were only minimally filled with coldcuts and cheese, meaning they're grossly overpriced. The "cook" looked completely clueless, got the order half wrong, didn'tknow what's in the sandwiches he's making, and admitted himself that he's bad at making sandwiches. He's not good at makingpizzas either. I don't get how anyone could rate this place more than one star. Stop to fill up your tank if you must but leaveas fast as you can. Read more
This place is terrible
Stopped in here for an Italian sub sandwich and was surprised to find it so tasty and satisfying. We wanted something a bit... lighter than we'd been eating and it was the perfect choice. Read more
