We really enjoyed our stay at the Stowehof! Our room, as well as the hotel lounge and dining area had incredible views of the... mountains. It felt like we were in a 60s ski chalet. Our room was very roomy and had a nice balcony, which we enjoyed going outon in the mornings. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our only complaint is that it is a little old and just needs abit more maintenance / renovation. But really, you can't beat the stunning views here. Read more

We stayed 2 nights on a anniversary trip. Rustic dated lodge but cozy. Views were beautiful! Staff were friendly and... attentive. We enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub. We ate breakfast one am, not included in room price, pricey, but good. Roomwas big, bed not so comfy. Enjoyed our stay! Read more

We hosted our wedding at the Stowehof and it was absolutely perfect! We wanted a cool Vermont spot that wasn?t too stuffy and... had enough that guests could stay on the property all weekend without leaving if they wanted. We had the entire property justfor our guests and it was so incredible to have the space just for our wedding. The property is beautiful, our wedding photoswere really varied and all lovely. Our wedding planner, Lindsey Leichthammer, worked closely with the Stowehof team to make sureeverything went off without a hitch. We can?t wait to come back for anniversaries in the future and would absolutely recommendhosting your own wedding at the Stowehof! Read more

The views are fantastic if you end up with a balcony room and the location is fairly quiet being that you're a few minutes off... of the main road. The view and location are the only reason this place gets 2 stars in my opinion. Check in was easy enough, you get a traditional key to your room. The room itself was unique to the time period the hotel was built in which I though waspretty cool, a bit like stepping into a time capsule. I think that's about where the fun wore off for me. The balcony outsidethe sliding door (which barely worked to get open) was questionable at best to keep you from tumbling over the edge. No chairson the balcony to enjoy the views. As per typical European buildings, the balcony was covered which is great if the weatherisn't fantastic but you'd still like to enjoy the air. There was a neat changing/powder room area between the bedroom and thebathroom. We didn't have any need to use it but I did appreciate the classic styling. As for the bathroom, I would say it got a$500 makeover in the last couple of years. Half of that budget was spent on silicone caulking and paint. Area behind the toiletwasn't painted and the caulking had so many gap, cracks and runs in it I'd say it was someone's first try at it. The rest of thebudget was spent on poorly installed tile. The shower and toilet were functional but don't expect anything to look like it wasinstalled or maintained by a professional. The whole facility could use 2 full time, skilled carpenters/master repair people.I'm sure they could work 50-60 hours a week all year and still have plenty to do. This place needs a complete overhaul, not thatthe styling needs to change, but the maintenance of the windows, doors, vents, steps, balcony's, roofs and so much more need atremendous amount of work. Unfortunately the Fritz restaurant and bar was closed (6/2022) which was a real downer. Unlessyou're feeling like you're in shape, you won't be walking downtown to get dinner or have a few Read more

We loved the view of our room and how rustic the hotel was. We really enjoyed the sauna and the pool. Our bed is one we will... miss?very comfortable and large. However, there were some things that needed work, in and outside our room. It is clear thatthere are some staffing issues leaving less attention to smaller details but we had a great time. We hope to return when it?scolder to sit by the lounge?s fireplace. Read more

We had our wedding at The Stowehof last weekend and it was absolutely everything we dreamt of and so much more!! The team of... Adam, Kaelee, and Allen took such amazing care of us -- always checking in to see if we were happy or needed anything. TheStowehof has this history and character that I hope stays around for eternity!! The kids loved the pools, our guests couldn'tget over those mountain views, and the food and service was impeccable. Thank you and thank you Stowehof team for making ourwedding weekend PERFECT!! Read more

It was excellent for many reasons. First and foremost was the location of The Stowehof, in Stowe Vermont. Makes you feel like... you are in Switzerland. Secondly, the service, the hotel itself was so beautiful in a rustic, quaint way which perfectlyblended to the beautiful scenery. Thirdly, the room and the place was so peaceful and quiet. Even if there are people, youdon't hear anything when you are in the room. The receptionist who welcomed us was so friendly and helpful. And most of all,the lobby had games, and free flowing coffee, tea and hot chocolate all day long!!! Amazing stay and I'll definitely comebackto the Stowehof next time I'm in Vermont again. Thank you!!! Read more

5.13.22 Our 1st time here and we enjoyed the serenity, location, views, and amenities. Stayed for 3 days. Used the pool, sauna,... and hot tub. The hotel has lots of unique features and lots of "wood" decor. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. We used the AC one night and had the windows open another night. Very quiet and peaceful. Read more
