Had an incredible time at Bijou this past weekend! My mother and I enjoyed the entire experience, from the time we were greeted... at the front by the owner Mark and taken to the coziest table in the restaurant to the final sip of our wine! It was truly ajourney through all our senses with each dish that was brought to the table. The visual, the smell and of course the taste wereall marvelous. We were referring to the head chef Stewart Taylor as a Wizard each time we indulged in the dishes. Our serverMindy was outstanding as well as all the Staff. They treated us like royalty! We had an outrageously good experience here. From the moment we arrived, the staff we were warm, welcoming and helpful. The food... was outstanding. The mushroom soup was rich and delicious with incredible buttery flavor and the tempura fried enoki mushroomsserved on the side added an extra element that was so special. The duck confit was bang on - rich and absolutely delicious! Thechocolate terrine with the peanut butter mouse was light, fluffy and exceptionally delicious. We recently had the pleasure to experience a very special dinner at Bijou Restaurant in lovely Stratford, Ontario. We were very... happy with our dinner selections, wine choice and delicious desserts. We had a special request of a quieter table and where wewere seated was the best of the house. Thank you so much for accommodating us. We highly recommend this superb restaurant. Thefood was delicious, lovely atmosphere and wait staff were highly attentive as was the owner who helped make this a very specialevening for us. Went to the Bijou in mid-May and by chance found it was open, but luckily they had space for us. My husband and I had a... fantastic meal. The hummus with pistachio dukkah was amazing as was the rest of the meal. Great service. Better than some5-star restaurants that I have been to in Toronto! I would be interested in taking some classes if their chef ever has acooking night. Read more
Had a incredible experience here tonight. The duck confit is outstanding- I don't have words to describe how great it was.... Service was also very friendly and caring. If I was the host of ?You Gotta Eat Here? this restaurant would have a whole episode devoted to it. Absolute standout! Friendly... greeting & a smile at reception - gave us a window table as it was our anniversary. Complimentary Prosecco. Server wasexcellent, aware of our special anniversary event, engaged & very friendly. Explained a couple of items on the menu including anew dish that the Chef was preparing for the first time that evening and which I ordered. The Chef came over after I tasted thedish to get my opinion. Needless to say, the food, service & atmosphere were all excellent - 5 STARS for sure. We?ll definitelygo back. Read more
