Given the number of good reviews of the Clock Tower we may not have been there on a good night. The service was fine - a little... slow but not terrible. The food however was disappointing. For some reason whoever was in the kitchen over cooked both theexpensive fish we ordered as well as my wife's hamburger. We returned the fish which did not arrive back until the others weredone eating. The recommended lemon pie seemed to be whipped cream with lemon flavoring and had an inedible crust. This Restaurant/Pub/Inn is located in the 1886 era Post office. It has rooms for rent. There are three areas for meals. One has... evening entertainment, one is a more formal dining area and there is a seasonal outdoor meal area. The staff was very friendlyand very accommodating for our group. The food was excellent. We stayed at the inn and it was a fantastic place! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The building is very unique and old... so very charming but you still get remote a/c and a remote fireplace. Super cozy room with extra blankets, comfortable bed and ashared kitchen for coffee in the morning. The room was very nicely decorated utilizing the old charm of the building! We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at Clock Tower and the food was absolutely fantastic. Great way to kick off the wedding... weekend. Chef Mark was great to deal with and was willing to customize our menu to make it what we wanted. The staff was alsovery friendly. Always great atmosphere and service. The menu is a bit smaller and updated regularly with daily specials and in season items,... allowing the chef's to perfect dishes with fresh items and excellent presentation. This business is incredible from the ground up. The staff is friendly and so welcoming. The food is excellent. They use quality... ingredients and present it with care and passion. We had the privilege to work with Chef Mark to have Clock Tower be our catererfor our wedding. He worked diligently to set our menu and had a wonderful experience trying it first hand. Then the pandemic hitand he was one of the most compassionate vendors we dealt with when we had to cancel and reschedule a smaller event. Two yearslater Mark was kind enough to cater our baby shower. Lunched here today with a good friend (his pick of eateries this time) and we were both pleasantly impressed on all counts of... how we measure our likelihood of a return visit. The setting, the service and of course the all important quality of the foodwere top marks in each category. Just a short drive from London and definitely worth the travel. Our food tasted fresh and asimportant, freshly made. Well thought out combination of flavour and ingredients. Value for money props and no shortage ofchoice on the lunch menu. The server and all staff we interacted with were pleasant and accommodating and speed of service andtiming were spot on. Rarely do I sub in something for fresh fries but today I spun the wheel on the French Onion soup and it wasabsolutely a good choice. It seems to be a signature dish and for good reason.
