Get there early, before the good stuff is sold out! Favorites are raisin bread, meat pies and anything lemon (as tart as... possible, please!) And they will bake anything you desire! [As for the person who reviewed and said it was not as fresh as theother bakery, that is a bold lie! The other bakery has frozen-thawed items that I am not sure even come from that store.Everything is baked by 'Mr. Baker' with years and years of experience at Hamilton's or sourced from local specialty stores suchas the fudge. And prices are always unbelievably low. Read more

Cookie bags are flawed. I left with a dozen cookies (date / coconut) and by the time I got to the light less then a block away,... I was down to 10. By the time I got to Second street the bag was empty. Beware. Get more cookies then you think you need. Iwould attach a picture but they don't last. The breads great too. The cinnamon loaf toasts up great with coffee, and the cherrybread is great on a lazy Sunday morning. If it makes it to Sunday... Update. I found that if you pick up a dozen of the chewycherry and coconut squares, they cookies seem to last longer. Read more

When I go to Strathroy Ont. I always stop in to Hamilton's. This place is a step back in time but the breads deserts and other... specialty items are wonderful. I call the day before and order cherry loaf and other goodies. My order is always freshly madeand ready for me to pick up the next day when I go down. Get there early so you don't miss out on the breads and pastries. Ifyou know that you are going down pre-order the day before. Thanks Hamilton's always great service. Read more
wandered into this shop because it looked so charming! (From Toronto, in Town for some work related things) and the foods were... even better than I had expected! It must have been Patrick the owner who greeted me, very sweet. Bought some cookies and buttertarts to try and also a sausage roll. The tarts (walnut and pecan, got 1 of each) were very sweet but still delicious, withoutthe bitter aftertaste some tarts have, definitely will buy again (but maybe eating just 1 a day) and Saussage Roll! Amazing!$1.50 each is a great deal and they taste awesome! the pastry is flakey and fresh, and the sausage is NOT the rubbery store-hotdog kind, it's the good meaty kind :) Very pleased and hope more people stop by here! Chop Suey buns were delicious and great homemade hamburger buns too! Croissants are buttery and yummy!
