Absolute hidden gem in downtown Suffolk. All ingredients are fresh and sourced locally. Bourbon and wine selections are... fantastic. We had the warm olives for an app and the Chesapeake Bay flounder and hangar steak and frites as the main. Allamazingly delicious and cooked to perfection. The boulavadier was a tasty fall beverage made with 4 roses bourbon and my wifesaid the wine was delish. Finished the night with the cheesecake and it was perfect. Staff was amazing and food came out veryquick. One of my favorites In Hampton Roads. It’s worth the venture to Suffolk. Read more

Very nice atmosphere, and the staff very friendly. It was my husband and I plus another couple. I had the Shrimp and grits,... totally awesome, cooked and seasoned to perfection. My husband and the other husband had the daily special of beef tenderloinsteak that came with twice baked potato and brandy mushroom sauce (tasted husband's so good). The other wife had the baby backribs which she said was so good. We also had the sweet onion hush puppies for starters and highly recommend those also. We willbe go back when in the area. Wish I would have taken photos so you could see how well all was plated. Read more

I’ve been wanting to go to HT for 6 years. Sadly, sort of a let down. The service was just above average but that’s the best... news to share. We ordered the pork belly biscuit which is overpriced for the amuse-bouche size and hard, rather stale biscuitwith no-flare pork belly but the apricot jam shined. We ordered the NC shrimp and grits and the ribs with mac and cheese side.Chef: please season the Mac and add the 3-year cheddar, as advertised… we received scalloped mac with no seasoning and nodiscernible cheddar. Shrimp and grits cooked well but lacked seasoning as well. Ribs were good. Total bill for two with tip was$191. You’d expect more for that price. Brioche bread pudding was the star. Just skip the appetizer and dinner entrees and gostraight to dessert folks. Read more

Update* We have been here multiple times. First time I was wowed. The following times were just meh. There were a few times I... didn't like the service and the food that much. We decided to come here again Friday night and it was a win again. Service wasmuch better, especially our waitress. I forgot her name but she was amazing. The cocktails were delicious however, I think maybethey could use a tad more alcohol in there. Appetizers and main courses were all amazing. Very well executed. My husband'sribeye was very flavorful and cooked to a perfect medium. We look forward to coming back here againsoon. --------------------------------------------------------------------- I usually don't like dessert but their peachcrumble with ice cream was yummy. Freshly made and not much added sugar in it. We were looking for a local place for our datenights. This place doesn't disappoint. Love the interior design and the vibe was warm and welcoming. Quiet but not tooquiet. Lovely options on the menu. They also have a full bar. I was glad the menu was not filled with deep fried dishes. Hardto find a place that makes their food with fresh wholesome ingredients. Their warm olive was delicious. That was a excellentappetizer with drinks. I ordered shrimp and grits and that's pbly the best one I have ever had. My husband was very happy withhis pork entree. Proteins and vegetables are all perfectly done. Well seasoned, so much flavor, aroma, not overly salted, andfresh. We will definitely be back again. Read more

This place is fantastic. I eat out quite often and I must say the farm to table concept here is done perfectly. Portions were... good and everything was fresh. I had the fried flounder which was phenomenal. It was served over fries which I didn't eat all ofbecause I'm trying to watch the carbs but it also had homemade coleslaw which was fantastic. We had the pork belly biscuit as anappetizer and that was outstanding. Drinks were also good and the mango sorbet dessert was just perfect. Although I live inMaryland, the next time I'm in this area I will definitely go back. 10 out of 10! Read more

I had always heard things about Harper's Table since 2015 and figured one day I would give them a try on 11/05/2021 since I want... to support the City of Suffolk downtown local business. Well, it started as soon as we came up to the establishment. A couple of4 were together and knew we were behind them and they didn't even try holding the door for us. We were greeted by the hostessand she looked surprised we were going to be dining in. My wife said something to me and we both had the same impression. Wewere seated and it took a minute for our drink order to be taken because of the short staffing and trying to serving andclearing tables as well as making drinks. Our waitress Harley B was polite and kind. She wasn't all familiar with the menu sincethe menu changes frequently and she had to go back to the kitchen to ask question. She did maintain a great attitude. It took agood amount of time for our drink order to come and a few of the requested drinks the bar didn't have. Our food order took avery long time to come. The food was tasty but you don't get what you pay for plus on your bill you will get charged an extrafee of 3.5% for using your credit card so be prepared to pay this fee if you decide to use your card. I would not recommend thisunless you want to sit in and don't mind paying a high-end cost for slow service and food that you could get a more enjoyablelesser price. Read more

Mixed thoughts about this place. We got the brussel sprouts, the pork belly biscuit, and I ordered the shrimp and grits. The... brussel sprouts were dunked in some sort of sauce that made the tactile experience incredibly strange in my mouth, like I waseating an amniotic sac. They were just wet and weird and I wasn't in love with that. I was not super impressed with the flavoreither. While the pork belly biscuit was good, I think I have eaten Oreos that are bigger. It is a tiny portion for $4. Thatbeing said, I LOVED the shrimp and grits. Honestly, it was amazing. The shrimp was very fresh and the peppers added the perfectamount of heat. After the appetizers I was not confident that it would live up to the price tag, but I can earnestly say that itwas absolutely superb and exceeded my expectations. The sausage in there provided the perfect complement to the rest of themeal. It took about 30 minutes before we got our appetizers, and it took a good hour and fifteen minutes before we got the maindish. I understand that there is a labor shortage going on right now, but geez. It's not the staff's fault and I get that butyou definitely don't get any points for that. All in all, I would recommend the shrimp and grits and that's it. Everything elseabout this place does not meet expectations. Read more
