Unassuming adjacent to an Ill placed liquor store, Ohana Hawaiian BBQ is perfectly located for those looking for... something different, despite the close proximity of that saliva inducing, addictive Orange Chicken being pushed by a husky pandadown the street. But Howzit you ask? All gravy bruddah & sistah. When ordering plate-lunch (main+Mac+2 scoops of rice) I askedif I could sub a scoop of Mac for the overly generous scoops of rice...this was done at no charge. I ordered the fish tacos and a side of macaroni salad and my wife ordered the ground steak mini with macaroni salad. Also... ordered a side of 2 Masubi's. My fish tacos were fair and the macaroni salad was fair. However, my wife's ground steak patty wasnothing to be desired. She was pretty disgusted by the flavor and the texture. She only took 2 bites and called it quits. I hadto try it to see for myself. The gravy had a sweet flavor to it and the meat had a fake like texture to it. Almost like itwasn't actual meat. Exactly what my man wanted. He?s been craving bbq for months now and due to my healthy lifestyle we haven?t crossed paths with... a joint like this. I did try to order the fish bowl thinking it was the fresh grilled fish. And paid an extra .75 cents to makemine a all veggie/fish bowl. He ordered the ahu?s bbq mix. They are super fast to complete our order. The fish in the bowl wasa large sized fish! He loved his que and macaroni salad off his. Kudos to CJ for helping me out. Read more
The fish was good. I wasnt a fan of the short ribs or the fries. Hawaiian bbq sauce that you dispense in a little container was... watery but strong. If you're hungry it's still a good eat. Read more
