In a classic environment, you can enjoy some of the most interesting and innovative dishes, right alongside some of the... long-time favorites. Yesterday I had to stay perfectly cooked, which came along side and innovative tomato salad which was alsodelicious. We also shared some tuna tartare which was very interesting, an amazing chicken soup, another classic done with loveand heart, and their base scallops were cooked to perfection. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here. We were celebrating abirthday, and they gave us a beautiful happy birthday dish and complimentary dessert, along with a candle. trying a new tavern... ample parking space... exterior looks good... although not sure if it exudes a tabern feel... more like a... converted somewhat modern house... or maybe i have no idea what i'm talking about... and then you enter and surely enough youget that old wood tavern feel... exquisite... clean... warm... the hostesses were all smiles i feel genuinely... gives a verygood vibes... everyone of the wait staff as well... that alone warrants 5 stars... the food were also good but at this point itfeels like a plus... we ordered calamari salad... grilled prime rib... braised short ribs... and a couple desserts... the onlything amiss is that the missus did not enjoy her rosy cheeks cocktail... nevertheless it didn't dent our overall experience andrating... a gem of a find no doubt... We love this place for a nice cozy evening! They have a nice wood burning fireplace in their lounge/bar area, so we always favor... sitting at the bar or on the high tops. Sometimes we go for drinks and apps, sometimes we?ll have a full dinner. The food isdelicious - not fine dining, but great for American cuisine. Their honey buttered house rolls are to die for, and the porcinicrusted ribeye is one of my favorites. The last time we were there, we tried the burrata flat bread and I was very surprised byhow delicious and fresh it was! The dough was crispy and light, and overall, a great option for drinks and appetizers. The staffis awesome, specially bartender Sam who has been a pleasure since he started about a month ago. Food was outstanding, atmosphere was comfortable & wait staff was friendly. The only negative thing was could say is that we... waited too long at times for someone to check in on the table. My wife and I dropped in today at the end of lunch rush. We sat at the bar. Our appetizer was Spicy Tuna Tartare (Lime-Miso... Vinaigrette, Wasabi Aioli, Pickled Ginger, Crispy Sesame Wontons). Not only was the dish beautiful to look at, but it wasabsolutely delicious. The tuna was extremely tender, practically melting in our mouths. For entrees we shared the The HuntleyBurger (Brioche Bun, Nueske Bacon, Danish Blue Cheese, Balsamic Red Onions, Garlic Aioli, Truffle Frites) and Fig & PearFlatbread (Danish Bleu Cheese, Preserved Fig Jam, Port Wine Poached Pear, Crispy Prosciutto, Arugula) Both were delicious. Theburger was cooked perfectly, and the truffle french fries were very well balanced. The flatbread was a very nice combination ofcomplimentary flavors, highlighted by a satisfying crunch from the bacon. Overall it was an excellent meal and I woulddefinitely return for dinner. This was a very nice dinner out. The appetizers were good. The dragon roll was just average. My burger was very good it was... done as requested medium rare and was very tasty. The rib eye steak was also very good and done as requested. The monk fishwas very tasty . The drink was a new fashion and was prepared very well. Thanks to a quick Google search we found this delicious restuarant near the Short Hills Mall and I?m soooo glad we did. Me and... my Fiancé are huge foodies so we love to eat out and have nice experiences on Friday nights. This actually exceeded ourexpectations. Even the way this restuarant answers the phone makes you want to come and dine with them. What made it even betterwas our waitress, Sydney. She was by far the friendliest waitress we?ve ever had before. She had great recommendations and madesure we had everything we needed at all times. Not to mention, every single thing we ate blew us away. I cannot recommend thisrestaurant enough! We will certainly be back, it?s worth the drive! Read more
