There was something in my water and apple juice, asked for the apple juice to be taken off. Order onion rings as an appetizer... and they came out 8 minutes after our meal. The French toast was good but the fajita skillet was bland and the chicken was dry,could have used more seasoning. We also ordered a side of hash browns but it didn't come out until 8 minutes after we got servedour meal. Read more
Very classic diner type food and atmosphere. The food was great and affordable. We had good service.
Love the food, vibes and service. My most favorite thing is the vegetable beef soup. The sandwich was really good too. I like... that they use really great quality buns. The waitress was super nice (pretty sure her name was Lauresha) the only reason I gave4 stars because I think it?s a little pricey. But overall dining experience was great and would definitely go back! Read more
What a gem of place! While eating the delicious food, I noticed how well all of the workers work so well together. You can tell... they have worked together for a long time to be this smooth. I travel for my job so to find a place like this makes me happy. Igot the diner special which has French toast, 2 eggs, and your choice of meats. I got scrambled eggs and bacon, a side ofsausage links, pie, and coffee. Everything was super good and nothing was meh or bad. I do like the sausage links over thebacon. The French toast was so great and it had a nice crispness to it that many places do not have. Could not go wrong withthis order. The pie choices is whatever they have available in their cooler. They had a variety of more than 12 types of piewhen I was there and they are made fresh from a local company. I got a chocolate pie (Not the correct name) and it waswonderful. It was so tasty, firm, and the crust was perfect. I doubt anything of their pie choices would be bad. Highlyrecommend checking out this place if in the area. Read more
I was hungry & forgot to take photos! I love going to Gus's Diner! I enjoy the decor & atmosphere, the staff is friendly & the... food is great. Highly recommend! Update: I went again today & remembered to take photos. I had the roast pork/stuffing & mashedpotatoes & gravy. Cream cheese with cherry sauce pie. My son had chicken strips & fries & cheese curds. Over all a nice little diner... I stopped here while I was in Sun Prairie for work. I had their half chicken dinner with mashed... potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, and a trip to the salad bar. The half chicken was warm, juicy, and so delicious! The mashedpotatoes and gravy were decently average. However the coleslaw was a standout for sure. The salad bar was your run of the millsalad bar with most of the expected fixings. The waitress was prompt and friendly, as was the rest of the staff. What made thisdiner special more than anything, was the environment. This whole diner is setup like an old fashioned 1950's diner. There arejuke boxes and all sorts of old décor. All in all it pulls the whole experience together quite nicely. This place is well wortha stop if you happen to be in Sun Prairie and are looking for a nice place to eat. Read more
Great mom and pop place. I always appreciate the hustle and bustle of local diners. This was my first time here and the one... thing I regret is not coming here sooner. Came with my mom and my sister. The waitress was super nice and helpful, especiallymeeting the demands of my needy sister. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak or Country Fried Steak breakfast. Absolutely amazing.Cannot believe that you get THAT much food for $15-16. You literally could split it with someone else. So my country friedsteak was fried to a perfect crispy outside texture, while the inside had that burger patty texture, accompanying that with somenice Country gravy or sausage gravy. It was amazing. I'm a fan of Cracker Barrel's version too, but this one had more of ahomey feel to it. It also came with some eggs, however you like it, as well as some hash browns and pancakes. I was full andhad to take the rest home, which fed me for another 2 meals. This place is the real deal. On a side note, my mom and sisordered some oatmeal and biscuits and gravy. They were super pretty happy with the whole experience. The only minus was that wewere charged for hot water. They charged it as ordering hot tea, but the waitress was quick to correct that so we weren'tcharged for ordering water hot or cold. Thanks for the experience. Looking forward to trying other menu items, not just thebreakfast, but lunch and menu items. Sun Prairie PEEPS, this place is a keeper. Read more
