We pass Monk's Bar & Grill multiples times and finally had a moment to go in and dine. Buckle up, I like to do in-depth reviews,... TL;DR at the bottom. First Impressions: It was packed when we arrived, parking was an obstacle in and of itself. This made usthink that this was the place to be. We're not sports enthusiasts, but the thought did cross my mind if there was some sportingevent that lead to the high volume of tenants. Wait Time: We go in, it's a 10-15 minute wait, we go back outside to wait asthere was a line, and 3 minutes later a table cleared up. Being as packed as it was, we understood that there might be somewait time for our order to be taken and our meals to come rolling out. Overall, it wasn't too unbearable, and it was morereasonable than anything. They have a cool robot server running around, I hope it's getting paid fairly. Atmosphere: It's yourusual sport bar/pub restaurant combo. They had a bar area, TV's all around playing different things, lots of Packer decor, butthis is WI, so it's expected. Service: Our server was very chill and attentive. Overall, Morgan did great! Food: We orderedthe cheese curds for the appetizer, the server was kind to inform us that they taste better with ranch than with marinara sauce,but they did fail to inform us that ranch is extra ($0.50) but now you know. We also ordered their Sweet Chili CauliflowerBites, the sauce tasted like Asian Zing sauce from Buffalo Wild Wings, other than that, it's fried cauliflower with sauce. Forthe main meal, we ordered the Smoked Brisket Burger and the Alamo Burger. At first glance, they look amazing andphotogenic. The Alamo was very disappointing, there was no flavor in that patty. So I currently reside in Brookfield Wisconsin and drove 1 hour to my Noon appt at Milan laser hair removal appt because my... location was booked up. I left from there hungry and ran into Monks bar and grill, they were packed so I knew I had to try it!! Best thing I could of done!! From the moment I walked in the service was exceptional. I sat at the bar and JOSH was mybartender, definitely one of the top 3 I?ve encountered since I?ve lived in Wisconsin for 2.5 years. I ordered a old fashionwhich was very good and I?m picky!!! I started with French onion dip and monk chips, super delicious! He recommended theJamaican dry rub and I also did the Korean bar b que wings (wings are one of my top 2 favorite foods) that was also superdelish!! ONE MORE THING!!! Decorated with Badger and Packers decor. Sports bar style establishment offering the usual sports bar types of food and drinks,... as well as pizza, salads, and wraps. A GREAT place to watch the Badgers play! The decor and atmosphere make watching the game more of an experience! Monday evening... dinner for two. We were seated right away. Our server was very gracious and friendly. We chose Nachos as our appetizer, and theycame out delicious. As we were going to a movie after, we didn't get a main dish, but everything sounded great! We had fish fry. Soup,fish,coleslaw,and crispy French fries. The food was excellent, service great, place was clean and very... well maintained. We drank fresh brewed ice tea, exceptional. Cod was large and perfectly fried, fries were crunchy and alsoperfectly done. I had clam chowder, with oyster crackers, again excellent. We both were full and happy when we left. They offer2 and 3 piece, we each had 2 piece that offer outstanding dessert, did not get this too full. Really good fish fry, I've hadthere burgers here.all outstanding. My new go to place. Read more
