Very unassuming storefront, I just about walked in to Metro City Sports Bar & Grill by mistake and my co-worker had to steer me... over to the Barn Thai entrance. Fairly plain interior, our server was so nice and laughed at our corny and barely funnyjokes. Only 2 of us on Tuesday nite, seated immediately, only one other couple at the time. We ordered the Crispy Thai friedwings, the roasted duck curry and the shrimp & fish curry, with hot jasmine tea. Barely a 10 min wait and we were served. Thearoma of the dishes was so intoxicating (maybe the fact that we're famished made it better ????). Wings came first so weattacked them - they were crispy outside, very hot to the touch and only a hint of spiciness. I think it could have used morespiciness/heat, but they were tasty not overcooked and 6 wings for the 2 of us guys seemed not enough. However with the rest of the dinner, it really was just right. We shared the duck and fish/shrimp curries. The duck curry was very sweet (a littletoo sweet for my taste) and I think that overpowered the curry flavor. It was very good, savory but just too sweet. The duckhad nice roasted taste, although I think it was just a bit overcooked, it wasn't tough, just slightly overcooked. I would orderit again and request for less sugar and more curry (cuz I like the flavor). My coworker said he liked it just fine.???? He musthave more of a sweet tooth than me. The fish & shrimp curry had more of a curry flavor, the shrimp looked ???? really good, butI couldn't eat it ???? due to my gout. The fish was a non descript white fish (maybe some type of cod) and definitely NOTovercooked and very tasty. I thought the sauce was too salty, probably could cut it by 50% for my taste (then again, my diethas less salt and any dish my wife and I do not prepare ourselves is a little too salty for me). The food was just okay. I had the Devil Wings and also ordered a Green Curry. The curry was delicious but the Devil Wings were... not so good. They were drowned in batter and the batter was very hard. The meat itself was good, but it would have been betterif they were not immersed into Sweet Chili Sauce. That ruined the flavor. Barn Thai is the best Thai food restaurant. We order from here every Friday for "Thai Fri" and the whole studio loves it. The... customer service is impeccable and we are greeted with smiles and quality food. I recommend the Yellow Curry and also the MangoSticky Rice. Read more

Barn Thai has the best Thai food in the Bay Area. I could eat at Barn Thai for the rest of my life and not get tired of it... (I’ve ordered takeout from here 3 times in the past week and I’ll probably do it again tonight.) If you’re looking forsome bomb coconut soup, spicy basil chicken, yellow curry, and pad see ew, you’ve come to the right place. Yummy food. The noise and closeness of the diners bugged my dining companion, but I didn't mind. The food was tasty.

I like that place quite a bit. The food is good and spicy, although I limit myself to medium, in regards to spiciness level... (could go hotter but then I'd have to deal with the heartburn). The waitress, who could be the owner, is super nice and alwayssmiling. It's best to get there early for lunch because it gets packed quickly, compounding the fact that the place is small.If you get there at 12, you will probably have to wait 10-15min to get your dish.
