Went for desserts. Restaurant was empty. We were greeted and sat immediately. Staff was friendly and helpful. MC pie was exactly... what we needed. In and out in 15 min. There was an old vintage feeling while here. Although it may appear outdated to youngpeople, for myself, it took me back to when I was younger. Marie Callenders makes fruit pies and cakes that both look appetizing and taste satisfying. They are not loaded with sugar which... we appreciate. You can appreciate the fruit flavor. We purchased the strawberry pie for a friend who loved it. A little priceybut good. Read more
We came around 8pm on Saturday and was seated right away. Our waiter was super friendly and decided to give us both a cup of... soup on the house(the salad bar was closing and they had extra food). It was a nice lil surprise considering how expensive goingout is now.... My boyfriend and I both ordered the beef stroganoff and fried green beans. They were both killer!! It?s been years since hubby and I been to Marie?s since we moved 2hrs away. We WERE going to sushi next door till we discovered... they were closed for lunch so hubby wanted Marie?s. Great customer service by our server Jen who was on the spot with ourrefills and the cornbread was AWESOME. I?ve never been a cornbread person and Marie?s I can get used to. The chicken pot piewas?.ok. Nothing to brag about. I liked Mimi?s cafe potpie better which is why I could only give this place 4/5 stars. Went there for dinner tonight and it couldn't have been a nicer experience. The hostess was so friendly. She helped my mom use... that mini elevator. She was a joy! The waitress was just as nice. I had a few questions about the menu and she helped me todecide what to order. We had the pot roast and French dip, both of which were delicious. Will definitely go back. Read more
Their pies are world famous and one needs to go much in advance during busy times like Christmas and thanksgiving. They have a... number of flavours including traditional favourites and more innovative new concoctions. Got the German chocolate pie and itwas fantastic. The chocolate had flakes of coconut which added another dimension of flavour. Soft and fresh. Crust was fresh butcrisp. The chocolate satin pie was divine- light, whipped chocolate satin over an oreo crust (which could have been replaced bya simple pie crust imo) and with whipped cream. A medium pie lasts two people a little over a week. Very much worth the cost. Read more
We stopped in for lunch today. Excited that we could "eat in"! We really wanted the salad bar, which is sadly no longer an... option. We both had the meatloaf sandwich with a small salad. It was good except didn't like the mayonnaise on it. Read more
Update: We returned recently and I had the French Dip sandwich with a bowl of their tasty vegetable soup. Loved the sandwich.... Great service with a smile. We enjoyed their delicious cornbread appetizer as usual. My husband loves their salad bar. Olderreview: Good service. Glad the salad bar is back.
