We sat at the bar today, which we don't normally do anywhere. We just like regular tables so we can face each other while we eat... and chat. Today there was a wait for seats because it's a holiday, but there were open seats at the bar. I'm so glad we sat atthe bar! We enjoyed interacting with the bartenders, who all gave excellent service from start to finish. The raw oysters wereamazing and the steamed Old Bay shrimp were also very good. My Old-Fashioned was made perfectly. We will be going back whenwe're in the area again for sure! Read more
My husband and I went to get dinner here today, and while it was busy, there was not much of a wait and they were very... accommodating. Noah was our bartender and was very awesome! Shuckin' Shack has a delicious variety of seafood. Their oyster are amazing, their southern boils very tasty, their po' boys are... supreme, their drinks are powerful, and the service is awesome. This is the first restaurant I've been to that allowed dogs. You have to opt for the outdoor seating, but that worked just... fine. We ordered hush puppies and scallops for appetizers. Hush puppies were nice and crisp on the outside and warm and steamyon the inside. The scallops were done perfectly and ordered blackened. Next up was 6 of the fresh oysters from the everchanging menu. They were delicious and very tasty with the numerous hot sauces to choose from. Then, the Oyster Sampler whichentailed a mix of 16 oysters raw, steamed and char grilled. All good but I found I personally least liked the chargrilled. Then, lastly, the Lobster dinner, only served on Fridays. It came with coleslaw and corn on the cob. Tricia, ourwaitress, was fantastic! She timed the food just right. She also brought pail of water out for our dogs. Great experience andwould highly recommend this Surf City restaurant! Read more
Food was delicious. We had the crab balls, shrimp, oysters, cod, and mahi tacos. Atmosphere as expected for a bar. Multiple tvs... around with many games on to enjoy. The lids on the kid/to go cups did not fit well, so multiple spills. Read more
