Eating here is all about location. Located right next the Surfside Beach Pier you are eating at the beach. Views are... fantastic. The vibe is very beachy. Its crowded and unpretentious. The tables are close together and covered in graffiti. Bring a pen and add your own. A lot of places say, "best burger in..." And then are not. River City Cafe makes a legitimateclaim. Order it any way you want it. The burgers are big, and juicy. A double is a belly full. The onion rings aremonsters. Worth it. Parking is going to be rough when it's busy, but they validate the lots in front. Read more
Maybe a bit beach-grungy-looking with a VERY welcoming atmosphere. Went at 8pm on Wed, had 1/2 hr. wait. Hostess is a... gem...sweet, friendly & very welcoming. Our server was Brittany & by far, provided THE best service we've ever had anywhere, &it seemed natural, not forced. The onion rings were okay. The burgers were great!! Better than we imagined, even with all thegood reviews. Bacon cheeseburger, mac & cheese burgers & the OMG burger. Will definitely be back next time we come to Surfside!! Read more
Great spot with friendly service ! We arrived at the airport and this was our first stop - a Myrtle staple. I had the best hot... dog of my life and my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his burger- cooked rare ! We waited a few minutes for a seat outside whichwas worth it, and got delicious drinks in the meantime. Every single server, waiter, and busser was hardworking, friendly, andhelpful. River City Cafe was recommended by a local while we were on vacation. Set on the deck and it was a bit breezy but nice. Sandwich... prices are decent $10-$20. Fries are extra. Good place to get some American food. Hubby and I got flounder which was fresh and tasty. Friends got burgers and said they were... good. They have the biggest onion rings I've ever seen! They were quite yummy. The view of the beach is great, the gouse isright on the beach. Be careful trying for balcony seating in the evening if it is windy. Oh yes, and peanuts while you wait is afun touch. Be prepared for long waits in season and plan accordingly. Read more

Cozy casual ambiance; Speedy service,friendly staff, attentive waitress. Fried mushrooms and appetizers were tasty and perfectly... seasoned. The jalapeño hamburger was fantastic along with the crunchy grouper fingers. Good quality food and generous portions.Highly recommend to friends. Will go again. Read more
We were craving clam chowder on this cool cloudy day and let me tell you, we came to the right place! Creamy and thick, a little... on a spicy side (I usually don't handle spicy well) but with some crackers so tasty I will definitely come back for more! On topof that, my husband had the best wings ever! Place is unique, all walls covered in license plates that started stretching on theceiling..! Hand written notes in any available space, including the light fixtures! Free peanuts on tables covered by a papertable cloth advertising all associated eateries. Right on the beach!
