I was meeting friends for brunch and they wanted me to suggest something so I literally searched for "brunch white rock". This... was one of the suggestions. I liked the simple menu and the photos of the cafe. We chose 10 am on a Sunday but I wasn't sure ifwe'd need reservations or how long we'd have to wait. First, it's in a strip mall so there was lots of parking - bonus. Wewalked up at 10 am and had our choice of tables. By the time we were done 90 minutes later, the place was packed. Greattiming. Our food was so good. I had the chorizo hash and eggs and the chipotle hollandaise sauce was incredible! Everyone elseloved their food as well. I had the iced tea, which was so good. I'm not sure if it's made there or if it was a fountain drinkbut it was so flavourful - not watered down as I'd had at other places. Our server was great as well. Read more
Used to be a great place to eat. No more. One waitress handling everyone. Tried her best, but food was lukewarm, bacon was 2... strips. No offer of coffee refill. Asked for extra syrup got a quarter of the small container. Toast was small and thin. Cost was $38 for 2 pancakes, 2 fried eggs, 2 bacon sides and 2 slices of toast and 2 cool coffees. Won?t be back. Rolled into Ocean Park this morning on motorcycle trip and found this little gem. Delicious food! Our waitress ?A? was... fantastic! Friendly, courteous and coffee always topped up. Salmon Eggs Benny was excellent. Read more
Used to love this place. Service went downhill due to owner/cook. They ran out of Diet Coke, so I walked next door and grabbed a... bottle at Safeway. Got massive attitude and told that ?he?ll make an exception but never again?. Not exactly how you shouldspeak to a customers who just went a solved an issue because you were out of something. Never going back nor any of my friendsor family. Too bad, staff is really nice. The owner should learn from them. Read more
This used to be a great place to eat and enjoy time with family and friends. Not so much anymore. Recently the co-owners parted... ways and the one that really made the place tick left, as did most of the great staff. Since then, the cafe has been open fewerdays a week with shorter hours. This has created problems for customers. But that is nothing compared to the rude, dismissivestaff and dire need of at least one more cook. Our family decided to give them another try a couple of weeks ago and we werevery disappointed. I told the waitress that I had stomach issues due to recent surgery. The only things on the menu I couldorder were toast and scrambled eggs. She came back a few minutes later to tell me that the cook wasn?t going to cook my 1 egg asit was past breakfast hours. At the very least she could have told me this politely or asked if I wanted something else. Mygrandsons? chicken strips and milkshakes came very quickly. However, my husband and daughter-in-law and I waited a good 45minutes for our food. I was only having toast and they were having a piece of buttered bread and a bowl of soup which only hadto be ladled out of a big pot over by the coffee. When we did finally get our food the waitress came very close to spilling myhusband?s bowl of soup on my lap. I voiced my shock and she simply walked away saying, ?Sorry if that shocked you.? We had avery negative experience that day and will not be going back again. So sad because it is our neighbourhood restaurant. Also,they should take down the sign at the front entrance that says? to paraphrase? ?Once you are seated you cannot move as it messesup the staff.? Really tasty BLT sandwich! Quality bacon and fresh bread. Friendly service, will revisit for sure.
Love it here. I get the same breakfast every 2 weeks or so as a treat and it's the best breakfast I've had. A tad bit pricey but... that's the world we're in now I guess? Chorizo hash is sooo good and a wee bit spicy. Read more
