We were originally going to go to Delrios, unfortunately, when we arrived it said it was only take out service , due to staff... shortage. We ended up here, not realizing this is the original Ocean Park Pizza. I have never been, but my friend had been hereon numerous occasions, not realizing this is the origin. Anywho, the atmosphere, is cozy and inviting. 3rd generation family,it's rare to see, as most businesses fail onto the 2nd generation. What an inviting atmosphere, I am sure the hostess thought wewere nuts, as we were telling them the backstory on our experience. Thank you, for putting up with us. Lol. When you walk onthere is a buffet style dining room to the left and a wrap around bar style with attached bar stools. Oak chairs andtables Sections throughout the pub, TV's perfectly placed. I like the A-frame Chateau style Pub. We were escorted to a sectionwhere there are big bay windows and separated tables in 4 sections and a gas fireplace with long cushions acting as chairs,table is very comfortable, Whistler style. I like the history behind the pub and our server was extremely professional andcourteous and helpful and can tell you all about the pubs history, it's very fascinating, just ask. The bathrooms are veryclean and contactless paper towels and faucets. Big mirrors and full length mirror and 3 washroom stalls. Clean andtidy. $$$ Plenty of parking behind the pub Busy on weekends Fantastic pizza, regular half and half and delicious. Promptservice. We went weekday and it was a steady stream of people. Food is Fairly priced. Nico is definitely one of the best owner/hosts I have ever met. Always lively and involved with his... customers. Laughing and joking. This is a really good Pub, probably one of the best in all of the lower mainland. I particularly like the fact that they now... have a patio on the street side. It makes it feel so urban. The food is good, not fantastic. I think they could add a littlemore creativity to their menu. Read more
Eating here you?re expected to get a meal for at least ~$25 per person, so you?re thinking to yourself, you?ll probably get some... decent or good quality food? My friend that?s where you couldn?t be more wrong. The majority of their food don?t have any kindof spices, it feels like some of their plates don?t even put salt and pepper. A past worker from there has told me that theyleave their lasagna noodles inside a bucket soaking in water for over 24 hours. As well as when they are preparing the lamb theyput in a Tupperware (plastic) container and microwave it and then put it in the oven, only to accelerate the process of cookingthe meat. Along with dozens of others health code violations they have 0 regards for customer safety. The only redeemingquality of OPP is that the front staff are really nice and do their job well (for the most part). Which is why this restaurantdoesn?t get 0 stars. The service, menu and food is amazing! Everytime! We have been 4 times in the last 6 months. Each time introducing different... friends to this establishment. If you love pizza, you must try theirs. You won't be disappointed. Highly recommend! Read more
I was craving a clubhouse and OPP version of the club was delicious. It was on a French bageuette, a nice switch from the... traditional 3 bread club I usually have. My husband had the pizza, he always gets the pepperoni pizza from Ocean Park Pizza!!Fantastic Eats!! Read more
Honestly, I'm very confused by these reviews. We've eaten here 3 times, and ordered pizza for delivery, and every time it's been... terrible, just terrible! We keep "giving it another shot" because we keep hearing how amazing it is. It is in fact overpricedand TERRIBLE. Is everyone in love with it because there is simply no other option? SO confused! Firstly, what restaurant in 2022has ZERO gluten-free options? The food: Beef dip - stale bread, over-cooked cheap meat, flavourless dip- gross. The crunchychicken sandwich, looks like a Sysco truck threw up a frozen chicken cutlet on a bland bun - flavourless and gross. Caesar salad- tasted like wet-lettuce with a couple slices of flavourless cheese thrown on it - gross gross. The Sheppards pie is obviously(over)heated from frozen (and after requesting a GF option, is served with garlic toast - that's a law suit waiting to happen).The pizza. Oh my. The pizza we kept hearing was incredible - overly sauced, with a half an inch of some nameless (figured Icouldn't use "flavourless" again in this review) white cheese on it. Because the cheese is put on top of the pepperoni (the onlygood ingredient in the meal and the reason this is a two-star review instead of a one-star review) means the toppings areindependent of the pizza base (rookie mistake) and slide off the base. The Calamari is the worst I've had ever! Imagine slicingchunks of rubber off your car tire - deep frying them and throwing some raw onion on the plate - that's a pretty accuratedescription. I just figured out why they spell it "Kalamari" because it must be some rubber calamari substitute. The serviceis... well... worthy of zero tip if such a thing was culturally acceptable. Did I mention prices are about 20-40% higher thanother restaurants in the area? Like I said, we keep trying this place because we WANT to like it.
