Took a pre-Christmas day trip last week - no agenda, stopped in Sutter Creek to get some air and wandered into this tasting... room. Small, some family pictures, minimal "wine country cuteness"; a good sign for me. The wine built up from good to greatand every wine was solid, no dumb Chardonnay filler wines on the list. For me, the 100% 2011 Tempranillo was epic, tannic, goingto need years to come together but got me re-focused on what this varietal might do in the Foothills. Estate grown in Fairplay.I hope there are plans for more vintages of this! We ended up with two bottles of 2012 del Maggio, a field blend that will bedrinkable for the holidays: another attention getter if not a trophy wine. Better than some wines I have had at twice theprice. We will be back; being impressed with no nonsense tasting and the skill of the vintner. Read more
What a wonderful place to visit during a trip through small beautiful Sutter Creek. The wines are AMAZING! Greg and Sharon, the... owners & wine makers are so nice and they make you feel right at home. The tasting room has a great patio that makes for aperfect resting spot to enjoy a glass of wine and some food. You must visit this place if you're in Sutter Creek, great winesand a friendly place. My fiancé and I had a fabulous time at Baiocchi, and our host, Mallory, was so charming and knowledgeable about which wines we... would enjoy. Their front patio was beautiful and the whole ambiance felt like I was in the middle of their vineyard instead of abusy Main Street. Cannot praise this place enough! Read more
