5 stars for the great location. Sip a beer looking at the beautiful Matanuska glacier. The food was delicious. If you get hold... of the corner spot overlooking the glacier, you could spend endless time just staring at the beauty. The lodge has great allwood ambience with taxidermy Alaskan wild animals. Stopped here for lunch after our Matanuska Glacier hike. We sat outside and enjoyed the fabulous view of the glacier while we... ate. Food was pretty good, not spectacular or anything but hit the spot after our long hike. My husband enjoyed his beer aswell. Very friendly staff! Read more
I regret that I did not dine in. We were traveling with a large group and simply wanted to get some food and go. While we were... waiting for our orders to be brought up, we noticed how great the interior / decoration was at this place and the beautiful viewfrom inside and on the deck. Their burgers were awesome. They had 2 large but friendly dogs. Obviously they were hoping that wecould feed them some delicious burgers (no, we didn't, it ain't going to do any good to their health), but they were welltrained and did not try to grab anything from our hands :) I like their good tempers. After a long day of working on the river and our last night in the area my husband and I decided to go here to have dinner. Was... empty when we got there since it's pretty much the off season but it was a beautiful day out. Russell the owner served us and wehad the Clunky Goat Salad (I believe that was the name) and spicy mushroom burger. Food was good and everything tasted fresh. Weenjoyed our meal. We were so full we had to take out dessert to go (blueberry crisp)! Overall great experience! Read more
