Stopped here for lunch after our Matanuska Glacier hike. We sat outside and enjoyed the fabulous view of the glacier while we... ate. Food was pretty good, not spectacular or anything but hit the spot after our long hike. My husband enjoyed his beer aswell. Very friendly staff! Read more
I regret that I did not dine in. We were traveling with a large group and simply wanted to get some food and go. While we were... waiting for our orders to be brought up, we noticed how great the interior / decoration was at this place and the beautiful viewfrom inside and on the deck. Their burgers were awesome. They had 2 large but friendly dogs. Obviously they were hoping that wecould feed them some delicious burgers (no, we didn't, it ain't going to do any good to their health), but they were welltrained and did not try to grab anything from our hands :) I like their good tempers. Came here for lunch only after visiting the nearby Matanuska glacier. It has a nice view overlooking the glacier while you eat.... There were only a few people there, so was seated right away. Service was prompt as they immediately came for the drink andappetizers order. It was a fairly simple menu primarily consisting of hamburgers, sandwiches, salads, and soups. Started offwith the onion rings and zucchini sticks while we decided on the meals. Both came out within 10 minutes and were fresh out thefryer. Both had a nice crispy crunch. For the meals, ordered the Salmon Sandwich, Chicken Sandwich, Fish Tacos, and CrispyChicken Sandwich. Everything arrived within 15 minutes, was freshly made, and tasted good. Very friendly staff, menu options for vegetarians, excellent scenic location, clean interesting interiors, and fast service!... This restaurant has everything good. The only reason I'm giving this restaurant 3 stars is for everything but the food. The restaurant's decor was amazing, and you... could go around and look at the taxidermy while waiting to order. the views were stunning and overlooked the nearby glacier.There was also a cool dog outside. That said, the food was average at best. The Glacier Burger's "Secret Glacier Sauce" was justmayonnaise. The meat was dry and the bun was stale and crusty. Still a nice restaurant, though. Read more
After a long day of working on the river and our last night in the area my husband and I decided to go here to have dinner. Was... empty when we got there since it's pretty much the off season but it was a beautiful day out. Russell the owner served us and wehad the Clunky Goat Salad (I believe that was the name) and spicy mushroom burger. Food was good and everything tasted fresh. Weenjoyed our meal.
