If you are looking for a wonderful place to have something to eat, and are in the mood for some Greek food, then head to "The... Village" in Sycamore, IL. Me and my husband just had their food for the first time and let me tell you, we both said wow, themoment we tried our appetizer and throughout the whole meal. We ordered the saganaki to start and we were surprised with thedelicious lemon flavor the cheese had, it was like the perfect marriage between lemon, cheese and the delicious spices they outon the cheese. My chicken Souvlaki was so tender and well seasoned that it left me wanting more. It was beautifully accompaniedwith a delicious avgolemono soup, which was so silky and luxurious with a delicious lemon flavor. My husband regretted notgetting it. His Gyro platter dinner was also so good, i usually am not a fan of Gyros, but this one was the best ones i havehad. Living in Greece and having traveled there a lot in my life, I can say without a doubt, this is the closest thing to eating in a... taverna I have found! The food is outstanding! The traditional pork gyros are what dreams are made of! Everything I have triedhere is as authentic as it is delicious! The staff is wonderful and the atmosphere is just so comfortable. The Village has great food and a warm, inviting atmosphere. I had the gyro and Greek potatoes?both were delicious and it was a... healthy portion of food! Not only was the food great, but the owners and staff are friendly and committed to their customers.The menu also offers a variety of delicious Greek dishes and there is definitely something for everyone.
