I would give them 5 stars. The food was great, the place was always packed, and some great service. The problem is that they... just shut down the restaurant to only do catering/delivery. Read more

We stopped here on our way home. Hours are different due to Covid, but we arrived just as they opened. The food was amazing!... Clean, friendly atmosphere, waitresses were attentive to each table and very friendly. Hats off to the cook! He did an awesomejob preparing our home cooked meal. I would love to go back there again! Good Southern food. The place was packed and the waiting line was long. Fortunately I was alone and able to get a seat at the... bar without a wait. Country Fried Steak was great. Chocolate Chess pie for dessert. I do want to come back and try thecatfish. Not open everyday so check the schedule before you make the trip. Read more

My family took me for an absolutely delicious birthday lunch at Batter Up Childersburg on Friday. Pictured is "The Big League"... catfish and shrimp plate with hush puppies and two sides for $13.49. Fresh flaky catfish fillets, 6 tender crunchy-batteredjumbo shrimp, subtly sweet hush puppies...all cooked and seasoned to perfection. The rest of my family had the lunch buffet andloved it, except for the smoked bbq chicken which was visibly dried out (needed a dipping sauce or to be placed in the buffetwarmer with sauce on it).The cost of the lunch buffet was $10 + tax includes salad bar, hot buffet, drink, roll, and today'sdessert, decadent chocolate cobbler. Sweet Presley was our server, but it was also nice to see all the friendly servers work asa cohesive team refilling drinks, checking on the tables, and delivering the hot food. Restaurant was clean. Both the salad barand buffet were fully stocked. Atmosphere was fun baseball themed and welcoming. We WILL definitely be back...the best cat fishI've tried since moving to Alabama 4 years ago. Great job B.U.C.! Read more
