Went to the Fish Friar recently - the remodel looks great. Tried out one of the fancy new house cocktails - very nice to look... at, and strong too. Our server Maria was sweet, effervescent, and knowledgeable about the menu. We loved her! There was aspecial that night of lobster rolls - we got one cold with the lemony mayo, and one warm with butter. I liked the cold better -the lemon mayo went excellent with the lobster. We also shared a basket of fries that were perfectly crisp. I was a bitdisappointed that they didn't offer desserts, but was told that its something they are working on in the future. I cant wait tocome back! Read more

This is a record from a little while ago. It was our first visit. I ordered restaurant's signature fish & chips. The haddock... meat was soft not dry at all, the batter was crispy, and the oil was not tasting oxidized. There are more different types ofseafood dishes on the menu, and I would like to try something else next time! Btw the restaurant's interior was also cute! Read more

The haddock is the best. They have a really good selection of wine for the price. I love the cosy candle-fairy light ambience.... Staff is charming, had a great time. Also, this is totally your savior if you are in a big group wanting to get dinner insyracuse without a reservation. Read more

What a nice find in Downtown Syracuse! The streets roll up early down here but The Fish Friar shines. Very fresh fish, delicious... sides like the Roasted Carrots; the Mushy Peas (yes, Mushy Peas!) are a must! Nice vibe with some cool alternative musicplaying. Outside seating as well for the ?Not Winter? season in Syracuse! Read more
