Fun fact; Varsity has been open since 1926 & if it's not broke, don't fix it! A great little place on University hill with a... hometown feel. This pizza shop is quintessential to Syracuse & a must see if you are in town for one of the many sporting eventsnear by. Great food, usually very clean and excellent service. I ordered a large pizza, half cheese half mushroom and green pepper. It was ready in about 15 minutes, which is not bad at all!... A good pizza. The best part was the sauce by far! The crust and cheese were good, and the topics were fine. The green peppersdid not taste too fresh. The staff was friendly, and it was a good experience! I recommend giving it a try. Read more

Still great after all these years. Their pizza has the best toppings and crust in town. Try the "Varsity" pizza which has red... sauce and mozzarella with a delicious combination of 2 meat (pepperoni & sausage) and 3 vegetable (onion, bell pepper, &mushroom) toppings. Also, while you're waiting for Elli to cook your pizza, place an order for 5 or 10 wings with Gus and he'llcall out your name when they're ready to pick up. There are many additional comfort foods on the menu, and all of the ones I'vetried are good. While you're eating, check out the college flags hung on the walls. Depending on the time of the year, if a flagis upside down it means that the Syracuse basketball or football team beat that school during the current season. Visiting Syracuse for "Orange Preview Day" and Varsity came highly recommended. We were able to walk right in and grab a slice... during the Syracuse / Clemson battle of unbeatens without issue. Was pleasantly surprised with the pricing, definitely a greatvalue as we grabbed a drink and 2 slices under $9. The atmosphere was great (Syracuse was up 21-7 while we were there) and thestudents were having an amazing time. The service was super fast and friendly. Unfortunately we must have had our prankstersseated before us and when I went to use the pepper the top wasn't on and my entire pizza was covered with pepper. (Hence nophotos) Overall great experience and a great quick stop spot for a slice on campus. Just remember to check your shakers beforeusing them! Read more
