Going out to eat is hit or miss...this was a hit. The PoBoy my wife ordered was spectacular, the burger I had was amazing. The... bacon I added on was perfect. Would recommend the collared greens. The sweet tea was sweet but still had a bite. Service wasfast, friendly. The place is spotless and other times when there and it's busy it is the din is comforting but notoverwhelming. 10/10 would recommend. Read more
Great place for a delicious meal! The serving are large, the food from scratch, and the atmosphere inviting but real. Loved that... the southern food was just that and did not try too hard to be overly spicy. The staff were friendly, efficient, and worked wellwith each other to serve all customers. This is a very comfortable place to have a bit to eat. The alcoholic beverages were nice. The employees were very warm and... welcoming. Bathroom was clean. Very mixed crew of employees. The food looked great. Although it was very bland for my liking. Iwas expecting to bite into my catfish and taste all types of southern flavor. Not the case at all! The chicken I asked for it tocome plain without the sauce. And like I knew beforehand the chicken was not seasoned at all. Just like original at wingstop.Anyway the food was bland but edible. I also thought it odd that instead of using salt and pepper shakers, (which don't costmuch) they used small salt and pepper packets. They have a juke box, which told me that the nightlife may be pretty good. Otherthan the good being bland I loved this restaurant!! Make sure to bring some hot sauce with you! The service is great, and the food is good. It's as close as you can get to Southern eating. My favorite is the granola breaded... French toast. It never disappoints with a side of cheese grits. The breading on the fish was decent. The shrimp and grits camewith a decent amount of shrimp, and whatever cheese they use in those grits is really delicious. Read more
Server was pleasant enough and the portions are large. However, the food was really lacking in flavor. The sausage gravy was... bland and had that flour taste. There were no noticeable chunks of sausage. Biscuits were large but nothing stood out. Thecountry potatoes looked appealing but were cooked al la dente (hard potatoes and veggies) and were not seasoned. I was excitedto try this place out but was quite disappointed. I only took a few bites of my food to know that I would have to take myfood home and doctor it up myself as not to totally waste it. I left the restaurant still hungry. Be prepared to wait! We had a party of 3 and waited about an hour on Sunday morning. The hostess taking names was definitely... overwhelmed which is understandable. Our server was very friendly and patient with us despite the rush. I've been for lunchabout a year ago or so and it was delicious as well. Everything was delicious well worth the wait.
