Great little diner. I had the bacon and cheese omelette, grits with cheese and butter, sourdough toast and coffee. The food was... good but the service is what sets it apart from the rest. Not a lot of parking near the place but there's a pay to park lot justaround the side. You scan a qr code and pay on your phone. Easy peasy. Read more

Went with family to Southern Kitchen and it was pretty tasty! The catfish, BBQ pulled pork and chicken were delicious. Sides... were average, but the service was great. Would go back for another meal. Thanks! Read more

There is a reason why this place has been rated so highly over the years and has maintained its presence in the Tacoma community... as a solid location to get great food. What you get is quality. It may not be fine dining, the tablecloths are delightfullyquirky. The floor a little janky. The area a little run down. If you?re not into that, it?s fine. If you want some deliciousfood on a small menu where they have been cooking it up the right way for years, come and stop by here like everyone elsehas. We could not stop raving about the liver and onions, the butterfish and the wonderful waitstaff. Every morsel of ourbrunch was delightful. The butterfish just melts in your mouth with a crunchy but not overly thick batter coating the outside. It?s all thrilla no filla and I loved every morsel. The wait was kind of long but good food takes time. Everything was freshand hot. I will be back for more sweet potato pie and butterfish and collards. Mm mm! Read more

Had the vegetable plate, choose the mac and cheese, red beans and rice, butter corn and mashed potatoes and gravy. It was... outstanding. We also had the butter fish, it was breaded nicely, but not dry or greasy. Will definitely be going back to trydifferent options. Read more

The service here is absolutely top notch. Loved the cornbread pancake! Sweet tea was deliciously sweet and came in a massive... portion with refills and a to-go cup. Next time I'm definitely trying one of the lemonades because they look amazing. The foodwas otherwise average/simple but still quite tasty and satisfying! Read more

Amazing homemade cooking experience, the lemonade mango is so delicious and smooth with real mango. The Mac and Cheese is... outstanding better than Ezelles or Sisters and Brothers. The fried chicken is seasoned just like moms. Customer service isfriendly and very accommodating. I definitely want to try the fried catfish next. Very friendly atmosphere, Kevin Hart andhost of Dives and diners "Guy Fieri" were customers here. Great southern experience with all the sides to choose from. Highlyrecommended Read more

The food was perfect, great, and okay. Let me start by this order was take away. The Fried Chicken Sandwich was great and... packaged in two containers. I assume they packed this way since the fried chicken was hot. The sandwich fixings of sliced bread, onion, pickle, and lettuce were ready to assemble. It might be a southern way of serving chicken on the bone for a sandwich. Ifnot, don't know why wouldn't be boneless? I must say, the fried chicken was cooked perfectly and not greasy. The crispy batterwas just the way I love. It came with steak style fries, however they were a little soggy from sitting while steaming in box. Ifixed them by putting in toaster oven for 20 min. Stephen ordered The Chicken Fried Steak. The presentation was a little strangebut tasted great. It came with a choice of two sides. The Mac and Cheese was a little sweet and dryer then we normally like it.The Cornbread Stuffing and Gravy was okay nothing special. I loved the Corn Pancake even though I had to add butter and honey toget the total southern experience! Read more

The servers were really nice but the food just wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. This place came highly recommended so I... set my hopes extremely high for it to be a spectacular meal but it was just average. The burger and fries were ok. The friedchicken was probably the best part. It was actually seasoned really well and cooked all the way. Had we known the whole tablewould have just ordered that. The drinks were way too sweet even without the whipped cream on top. Probably won't be back. Read more
