The sour cherry of our Alaskan experience made possible by Carly and the waiters at the Wildflower. One of the most absurd and... unbelievable experiences we?ve had dining out during our travels. From the moment we entered the patio we were greeted by staffthat could care any less about hospitality, and they have a perfect reason for this type of behaviour, this restaurant charges18% mandatory gratuity for every table. So waiters like Carly can be as rude and uncaring throughout your experience. We askedif we could place our order given we had already read the menu online, however she was incredibly dismissive and would only takeour appetizer order. Apart from that we never were checked on, nor our waters filled, but worst of all we could hear thewaiters distress about some of the chefs and their ordering system. Better to stay away from this spot and spend your moneyelsewhere. Read more

One of the worst experiences my boyfriend and I have ever had at a restaurant. We went at 2pm on a beautiful day to sit on the... patio and our waitress Carly was incredibly rude right from our first interaction with her. She didn?t introduce herself, wasdismissive the entire time throughout our experience and on top of that we could over hear her and other waitresses complainingabout the legacy ordering system they use and their troubles with the chefs. Be advised there is a mandatory 18% tip on yourbill at the end that they make you pay despite only dining for two. After asking them to remove the 18% tip they refused, and wewere left wishing we had never stayed in the first place. It?s very unfortunate to come on vacation somewhere and feel so poorlyabout your decision of where you spent your lunch on such a beautiful day. Read more

The food was delicious -- my husband and I both got salmon sandwiches and they were incredible! Service was good considering the... restaurant was packed. We loved sitting on the front porch watching people walking down Main St. Read more

Perfect spot to eat while in Talkeetna! We had the best night sitting on the back deck listening to a local musician while... eating our mouth watering dinner. I chose to go with the special Macadamia encrusted Halibut with Marinara Zucchini and CheddarMashed Potatoes, and it was worth every penny! Our waitress was a pleasant surprise, and more than willing to help us narrowdown our decision for our order (way too many good choices!). I have been raving about this restaurant to my Family in Anchoragesince we visited tell them to at least stop for a drink while in town! Next time we're up this way we will be visiting again!! Seafood chowder was rich and creamy with nice seafood in the stew. I also ordered the halibut sandwich. Several locals advised... me to try the Wildflower Cafe and that the chowder and halibut sandwich were the bomb! No lie there. It was a very comfortableatmosphere with many beer choices, informed and sweet wait staff, and just a wonderful moment on a rainy evening. I enjoyed itvery much. Read more
