This is a local favorite and I understand why. The food was very fresh and delicious. I tried the fried Grouper sandwich with... lemon pepper seasoning and fries. The bread was soft and buttery while the fish was crispy and flaky. Don?t forget to squeezethe lemon over the fish #yum. Note: The seasoning (lemon pepper) comes on the side in case you are expecting the grouper to befried in the seasoning. Side bar: The restaurant was a bit cold (AC was blasting) and a bit loud. Every so often we drop by for me to get my oyster'fix'. As usual I got 1 1/2 dozen broiled wit Jalapeño, cheddar and bacon an... they were sweet and fixed perfectly. They get 4 stars because my partner gets the burger and they, while good, are just too big,lol. Read more

I have driven by this place multiple times but I never actually went in. I didn't even KNOW there was an inside, I thought it... was just picnic tables outside. I was wrong. Inside was amazing. Love the ambience. They were VERY busy for lunch but allthree wait staff took the time to come over to ask me if I needed anything while I waited for my son to arrive. That was verycool and a clue that the restaurant truly cares about their customers. My food was also quite good. Parking can be a challengewhich is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. It is illegal to sell "Grouper" in Florida, unless it's actually Grouper. I ordered the Grouper sandwich, and it was a small... TILAPIA fillet! I've been a fisherman for over 40 years, I know fish. This was an entire fillet of a small fish. Had the tailand rib bone section. It was NOT a chunk of a Grouper fillet cut to proportion size. We had an amazing first experience at Birds Aphrodisiac! It's definitely worth the hype it gets - because those were the best... Oysters I've had in town. Very fresh, no grainy texture and they were huge! My Husband got the Burger and the patty was massiveand juicy. We sat outside and it was a lovely little atmosphere sitting outside with the mural and plants around us. Birds alsohas different events, like music and burlesque acts, and I think that's awesome as well! Definitely a gem in Tallahassee. Onlything I'd suggest that could be better is parking - We would have been here a long time ago, but a few times when we tried...theparking lot was completely packed.
