Mostly good/tasty food. Presentation could be better - coarsely chopped, tough cabbage served as veggie, eew! Some staff could... be more customer oriented. That tall Rasta guy .... an asset; he has been polite n friendly. Don't want to name the not sopolite ones but definitely, Carl needs to invest in Customer Service. I know your customers are multiracial but please! In thename of God, DO NOT TAKE THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT YOU FOR GRANTED. My family have been avid supporters but now we'vedecided to take a break. Do better Carl's .... we're watching, waiting and hoping to see improvement. Read more
The food is normally good but lemme tell you the employees are disgusting this week iv'e been here about 4 times 2/4 including... today i witnessed a lady scratch her nose and then proceed to serve someone else's food the other time there was a short ladyeatin in the corner and then tended to serve someone elses food. And out of curiosity i asked the lightskin lady who alwayswears makeup with the red apron who the manager is she says why then doesn't tell me who it is. Polite service however, it?s my first time here and sadly the food did not hit the spot. They gave me the bottom of the pot rice... so it was hard and unpleasant to eat. Plus I could hardly find the beans that made it rice and beans. The plate of food wascold, not even ?warm? and that?s another disappointment. The cabbage and vegetables were really good. The meat was nicelyportioned. I?m willing to try it again but in hopes that the food will be hot and the rice fresh. Oh, and the meat needs alittle more seasoning. The Server was so very pleasant. The fish was excellent Unfortunately my chicken plate wasn't good. I was visiting the area... after 15 yrs and wanted Brown Stewed chicken .My chicken was smothered in gravy the way I liked but, it was too dry and hard Thepeas and rise was very salty on both plates..I spent at least $40 dollars I also bought drinks and paid for fried dumplings Ididn't receive after calling back to ask the server had she remembered to place them in the bag. .she replied yes but I arrivedto my hotel out east NO dumplings. Within the first minute of me entering and standing by the register I was greeted. I mentioned I wanted fish and was shown by... the girl (with the american mask) the different selections of fish, she also gave me a sample of the gravy for the steamed fishand I went with that dish. The steamed fish came with okra and carrots and was delicious. I got great service from the serverand would go back again. ???? Read more
Not sure who the chef is but a mi wan know dem! Used to swear by Dutch pot but this place is closer to me and the food is... heaven. Curry goat is just how I like it, full of pepper AND they have lunch specials for it! Never had any other chickenbesides their fried chicken and it has never failed. Their Escovitch fish is also amazing. Read more
The food here is totally amazing the best Carl's hands down. The price here is 110% affordable and customer service is above 5... stars. They have mini meals for a little over $5 they are way better than most if not all the jamaican restaurants put together.I was super happy with my fried chicken it was definitely seasoned by jesus. It was so delicious and succulent i chewed thebones. Check this place out and thank me later. Read more
A great place for family platters. We love the escovitch fish and the food is as good as our mom's and grannie. The staff was... patient with our back and forth and many questions. We will be back for upcoming holiday and family gatherings. Thanks to thestaff that served us. Read more
