We decided to come with excitement after reading all the wonderful reviews. The restaurant was clean, good decor details,... cafeteria style. They weren?t busy at all which was surprising for the time and day we came in. We ordered burnt ends, pulledpork, ribs, sh corn, green beans, collards, French fries, and bread pudding. The portions were good. The food looked reallygreat. Unfortunately, the taste and quality wasn?t there. The burnt ends were not burnt ends. Very disappointed in lack offlavor as well as trying to pass them off as burnt ends. Some of the other sides were also disappointing. The fries were cold, most everything was room temp and some foods had been sitting awhile. The best thing and it was really great, was the corn dish. Read more

Stopped in for Tampa Bay Burger Week and tried their Brisket Burger. The place was large with long picnic table type seating. It... was not a cozy ambiance, more of a clinical type vibe. Order, eat and move on. The burger is the only thing I've tried at thislocation. It was a nice meld of flavors. It was a brisket burger with melted cheddar, crispy fried onions, lettuce, tomato and4R sauce. The surprise for me was the mushy burger patty. The texture of the beef was as if it were part raw but it was fullycooked. The weird beef texture is a mystery to me and it was a bit uncomfortable to eat. Something odd about your burger pattysquishing out the sides of your bun on every bite. It did not affect the flavor however which was very good. Read more

OK, I'm typically not one to go to a restaurant that has more than one location. This smokehouse will be an exception. I had the... sausage, mac & cheese, and smoked jalapeño. Overall, it was fantastic. The sausage was perfect. The smoked jalapeños weretasty for certain. the mac & cheese was good, perhaps not enough crisp to it, but that's just a personal opinion. The priceswere reasonable, the serving sizes appropriate. The service was good, typical line order. The only room for improvement that Icould see was educating line workers on the products they are selling. I asked if the Texas BBQ was from Texas, they had noidea. There are a few companies that I am aware of that are in Texas and sell sausage to BBQ restaurants, which was the reasonfor my question. Just for kicks, I asked the gal if the jalapeños were good, she said she had never tried them. Neither one ofthese are issues at all, just observations. There is nothing that I enjoy more than trying to get a word or two in with thepeople who are making the food. Anything more than that and it becomes rather pleasant. It's awesome when you encounter someonebehind the counter, they know each one of the foods, they've had them, tasted them, critiqued them. Again, justobservations. Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant. Read more

Delectable sides and tender meats! You smell the meat from the parking lot. The restaurant has spacious cafeteria style seating.... I walked in and glanced over the menu. I told the employee what I wanted and he put a meal together for me. I ordered moistbrisket, Texas sausage, greens, corn, baked beans, and cornbread. Everything was Delicious. Tastes even better with the bbqsauce. Read more

I have had this 2 other times and they were very good! I usually order the family BBQ sampler and get 4 different meats and 2... sides. The collard greens are very good, the beans are sweet and soft with a smokey aftertaste. While today's brisket was alittle dry, previous times they were on point. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and savory, the pulled pork and pulledchicken were very good, and the sausage is also very good. Make sure you smother everything with their BBQ sauces! Their breadpudding is not that good, I've had better, but then again, I'm not a big fan of bread pudding. Can't wait until they put bananapudding on their menu. I am going to blame it on me taking too long to pick it up for take out this time as the reason why thebrisket and ribs were a little dry today. Dry, but still tender. They did soak up that BBQ sauce though! Get the fatty parts forthe brisket, that stuff is spectacular! I'm going to round up to 4 stars. The best BBQ I've had was in Charlotte, NC so far, though they say nothing beats Texas BBQ... unfortunately, I have yet to try any Black's in Texas yet... why did I order takeout? Because nobody wants to see me chow down on BBQ in public!! It's a messy affair! Read more

This was my first and last time here. Meat was cold. Portions were very small for the price and the service was mediocre. I can... think of a better place to spend $50 The grease was dripping off the meat. I gave it one star because we were lucky and gotfresh hot Mac and Cheese. I feel bad for the man in front of us who got the scraps left over from the previous pan. I gave itthe second star because I had good company for a blah meal. Read more

Loved the Beyond burnt ends melt. It was dry, but nothing the extra BBQ sauce didn't fix. As a vegetarian, I loved it. My... husband got the beef brisket, and actually preferred my sandwich over his own. It's about 10.00 a sandwich without sides. Lovingthe flavor of the beyond burnt ends. Update...The beyond burnt ends Vegan melt is even better for some reason today, tastedfresher and not dry. It's a must try! Read more
