From the first steps we walked in, greeted very quickly and sat the same service was great. Very friendly. Very nice. Very clean... and the food was great. My first time ever having the chicken and waffles and it really really was good. Better than myexpectations. My brother and sister-in-law also enjoyed their meals. Stick to the fried chicken entrees and Mashed potatoes As far as the Steak tips, the beans had previously been frozen and... possibly thawed then frozen again then heated in a manner tgat left them taste old and season less. The steak tasted old and ofthe over salted gravy. The potatoes were good. Chicken Parmesan, the fried chicken was good but the marinara was not amarinara by any definition and caused the rest to be uneaten. I took it home washed the pasta, air fried the chicken andremade it with real marinara, Parmesan Cheese and an Italian cheese mix, it was so much better. Shepards pie seems to be themeatloaf cut up and mixed with the gravy from the meatloaf with diced carrots, corn, and celery thrown in. With a ladle ofMashed potatoes plopped in the center, covered in cheese and thrown in an oven until the cheese melts. OK if you recycledfood. Even the lemon in my water seemed old. I went here because a few months ago, I ordered the pot roast and meatloaf andboth were good, I believe they have changed their kitchen staff since or the same quit caring. Read more
I?ve been dining here for years and appreciate the consistent quality throughout the years no matter what. The service is... fabulous. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt, especially Trina. The proprietor, Lori, is great too. The menu isdiverse and everything is fresh. If there is a wait, they have an online wait list which is very convenient. It?s a cleanestablishment and clean, open kitchen. I recommend Metro for some good diner style food. Read more
Spectacular menu! Something for everyone! And if you want phenomenal service, ask for Trina. She is the best! The restaurant is... spacious, clean and everyone is quite attentive. The open kitchen is always pristine and everyone is working hard all the timeto make sure you have the best experience. I feel like Lorie Tester, the proprietor, has the key to running a great restaurant. We come here often because this is truly one of St Petersburg?s gems. Read more
Came in on a a Saturday around the lunch rush and only had to wait 15 minutes to sit down. The service was great, took a little... while for our food to come out but it was worth the wait! The serving sizes are generous and the food is delicious. Metro Dineris a chain, but with local diner food. We love stopping here. Read more
We heard good things about the Metro Diner on 4th Street N, so we had to check it out first hand. Upon arrival, we were greeted... by the first three employees we came in contact with, a really nice way to start our dining experience! Our brunch choicesincluded pancakes, chicken soup, chicken pot pie, and Caesar salad. We had the impression we were dining with family. Thechicken soup was clearly ?homemade? and full of flavor and so colorful. The chicken pot pie was delicious and served piping hot.The pancakes were good, however adding Oreo cookie pieces may have ranked them higher. We will be back to explore the menufurther soon! My family and I enjoyed a breakfast here for the first time.?????????????? Breakfast is served all day just in case anyone was... wondering. Everything was delicious. From the greeting when you enter to our waitress Jackie. She was amazing and very pleasantand kept making sure we had what we needed and were happy.???? We knew we'd be back... Shared our experience with the rest ofthe family and returned for dinner a few days later. ?????????????????????? Again a friendly welcome and Hendricks was ourwaiter, he was great and very caring, he kept checking on us.???? The amount of food, price and taste is so worth it. I wouldrecommend if you haven't tried it you should. By the way my parents are picky eaters and they're bragging about it still. Fooditems were as follows along with photos except for the Sheppards Pie: Breakfast- Veggie omelette how I like it, french toast,grits, waffles with chicken strips and strawberry butter, hashbrowns, sausage and scrambled eggs. Dinner: Chicken Parmesan withgarlic bread, Fish and Chips with French fries and Cole slaw, A Half of l Chicken with green beans, mashed potatoes and biscuit,Mac-n-cheese, waffles, onion rings and fries, also which I failed to get a picture quick enough of was the Shepherds Pie.. Myson demolished it that's how good it was lol.????
