Went with my family to Shogun so we were all first timers here; I... went out on a limb based on the variety of reviews and decided to give this place a shot. NO regrets!!! ???? I was sooosurprised by how great the sashimi was here, chef's were on point! I started off with the Treasure Island appetizer, which isvarious diced raw sashimi pieces in a light sauce, topped with masago and borderlined with avocado. First bite of the fish hadme shook. Super soft and buttery, pairs well with the avocado. Very tasty! When I tried the Love Boat for 2, the moment oftruth came when I tried a piece of the salmon sashimi and the tuna. WOW. I haven't had any fresher fish served to me beforethis, and that's saying a lot considering how much sushi I've had. The sashimi was so soft it melted in my mouth, with a butteryfinish. No fishy taste whatsoever. My family was also very impressed, I think I blinked twice and it was all gone. This is thetype of real sashimi I've been looking for, where a chef takes pride in what they serve, and where you go home dreaming ofhaving more the following day. Great portions for reasonable menu prices, and the options offered are not too bad at all, goodvariety. The onlyyy reason it just missed 5 stars was mainly from the fried soft shell crab that did not taste well, and ourserver, which she might've been fairly new. So needing some things took a while to ask, and some knowledge on the menu itemswere confusing. Besides that, I'm definitely coming back to try more menu items! I've been waiting for a Sushi place to knock my proverbial socks off. Mission accomplished. My app called Treasure Island, was a... variety of diced sushi mixed in a sauce and surrounded by a wall of avocado. An auspicious start to an amazing lunch. I wasastounded by the incredible sauce, then when I dipped my avocado in plain soy sauce I was startled by the flavor, even their soysauce was great. My Hamachi app, fried yellowtail collar, was crisp, juicy and served with a sauce. Again, the sauce wasamazing! Who the heck is in charge of sauces, give them a raise. Time for the real test, Sashimi. I got the deluxe because it'sonly a 2-3 dollar difference and you get the yellowtail. It had white tuna, snapper, red tuna, salmon and yellowtail. All of itwas marvelous. When I tried the yellowtail sashimi I was dazed, I felt like I had a sushi high. As you may have guessed, I had astupendous meal. The Miso Soup was just right. My husband and I have been coming here for years. Since circa 2016. Hands down the best sushi in Tampa. Everything they have is... tasty and flavorful. Would highly recommend if you're in the area! I came here about three years ago and had a great delicious sushi. Today I stopped with my mom to share the experience with her.... The service was great and fast but the sushi was just ok. The tuna tartare was very fresh and yummy and the beat part of themeal. Would recommend. Read more
Sushi was good. Nothing to write home about, but solid sushi nonetheless. Service was a bit slow but they were very polite. Not... a go to in my opinion, but good if you dont have a better option. Read more
Food is great service sucks! The skinny Spanish girl and the other one with black curly hair that works Sunday evenings are... complete trash! The white lady and other red headed Hispanic girl with glasses are awesome! I walked in today (Sunday) I saw thelazy Spanish girl with black hair and just walked out we’ve gotten terrible service from her and the skinny Spanish girl over4 times and even spoken to a manager now when they are there we don’t even bother to go and we go quite often.
