first had this during college out in Ohio, with the lack of choices out there it really hit ???? love the classic wax paper... wrap, got the garlic burger good but greasy, monte cristo is decent also for a craving. I can never eat this all in one sittingit?s super heavy. If you?re looking for that boujee Shake Shack, Culver?s vibe, this not it ???? but deff better than BK, McD,Wendys etc. just cheap classic fast food for a late night craving, they have cheese fries ?? First time there in awhile since the one near me closed down. I got a gift card from someone so I stopped in. They've taken that... old time 50's and 60's feel out-of the restaurant. No more servers. You order st the counter and have a seat. It took 3 triesand someone behind the counter to finally get the machine to accept the gift card. I sat down. Mind you I went there just afterseeing my chiropractor for a bad back. I went there to sit down, order, and have my food brought to me. This didn't happen. Isat down then heard my name called. I struggled to get up and went to the counter...it was for the milkshake I ordered. I thenhad to sit and wait and then get up again to get my food. I understand that this happens at a lot of restaurants nowadays but Iwasn't expecting it from Steak n Shake. They have ruined the atmosphere that used to be there. I hope it is Covid to blame for this downfall and it will soon change back to what it was. It was my worst experience ever here!... They have no more servers, only people working in the kitchen. You have to order at a machine. When we got home there where somany mistakes on our order it wasn?t even funny, but too late to complain. You can?t even read the order and make itright??? You?ve lost a good customer for a while. Get it back to the way Gus Belt created it!!! He would turn himself around inhis grave if he would see what happened to his restaurants. Read more
It?s been years since I?ve been to this location and I was nervous after reading the reviews. I had a great pickup experience -... everyone was happy with their burgers, shakes, and chili. I did curbside this time and the lady that brought my order out wasvery nice. Wish I could have gotten my birthday reward to work in the app for my shake but that?s my only complaint (and I knowthat?s an app issue, nothing to do with the location). Ordered through their app and my milkshake was forgotten. Talked to the manager, Gabrielle, and she said she left a note in the... manager?s office for a free shake on my next order and told me to let the manager know next time I placed an order. The nexttime I ordered, I had a coupon from the app for a free milkshake. When it arrived, there was no milkshake. Gabrielle did contactsupport to get my order refunded as this was the second time this happened. Fast forward to today: I placed an order online andcalled to request my milkshake. The manager was too busy to even accept my call, per the employee I spoke to, and told me tocall back later. I tried to explain that my order would have gone out by then, but they did not care. Was nervous after reading the reviews but gave it a shot. Was glad I did! Went inside, ordered my food and it was up within 10... minutes, hot and fresh. Everything was delicious and the tables were clean. Those employees were busting their a** and all did agreat job. Read more
I was not impressed. We went inside because we wanted to sit down, but every table in the dining area was dirty. I used some... paper towels to wipe one down that was not to bad. It did not take long to get our food and the food was not bad. It did howevertake forever to get our shakes we were done with our meal by the time they were done. I was glad we ordered a water as well. Iwould love to say they were super busy in the drive thru or something but I saw quite a few employees just standing around. New business strategy eliminating all servers. You order at a kiosk and pick up the food when called. The restaurant was the... cleanest restaurant I've ever seen. Even the kitchen was spotless. Menu has been scaled back as well to mostly burgers but themilkshakes are still divine. Love the new environment. Read more
