It's always great finding an authentic Cuban restaurant in South Florida and it's tough to rate since I grew up on grandma's... Cuban cooking but this place hits all the marks. Tasty authentic Cuban dishes, quick service and a cafeteria style diningexperience made it an enjoyable outing but the only thing holding it back from 5 stars is that my friend had ordered an OJ afterwe got a round of waters for the table and it never came. Bad customer service, the food is ok but nothing special. The Cuban tamal was NOT good. The breakfast sandwich was the only... thing we enjoyed. We were expecting a good delicious cup of hot coffee but again, we were disappointed. First and last timevisiting. The place needs to be cleaned or updated, not sure if it?s just old or dirty. When you order empanadas and they arrive cold n soggy. Excuse was oh we put them in the microwave. Proceeded to bring me back... the same ones, nasty flavored sucked. How can you serve something that was fried before and then cold to be told that it was inthe microwave to be warmed up. Whom knows how old they were before being served to us. Very bad on their part! Outstanding black beans and congri, plus super cigars! I got massas de puerco fritas, which was very good and plentiful. Cigars... on counter were $4.25 ea. I bought 4, and now having smoked one, wish I had purchased a dozen. This is s simple, plain lookingplace, with friendly (mostly Spanish speaking) staff and excellent representations of Cuban basics. Been going here for decades. Food is hot and fresh. The coffee is amazing and always a present addition in my car while driving... in or out of the keys. I suggest you go inside and eat there. You are in the keys, there is no need to rush around. Read more

I have ordered take out from Sunrise many times and it's always great. They have a small store inside by the dinning room. They... have outside seating and a take out window. You can't drive by with out stopping for Cuban Coffee or some fresh yucca or maybesome tostones. Check them out and let me know what you think. They are always friendly. Read more
