I love the Sushi Bar, I have been coming for quite a few months now and rarely post reviews. James (the head chef, and owner)... is a fantastic host and is always willing to ensure my wife and I have a wonderful meal. The restaurant has always treated meabove and beyond expected service. Now lets talk about the food, there isn't better sushi in the Metro Detroit area, I have nothad better sushi anywhere else in the US (been around Detroit and Nashville mainly). The fish is as fresh as can be expected ofa non-ocean located town, and I have never had an issue with it. James always whips up something creative (just order Omakasestyle and he will take care of you too). Thank you for the great meals, and I look forwards too many more. Best of the best! My husband and I visit 2-3 times a month! Both dine-in and take-out are super yummy! Their miso soup is also... better then any around! Their flaming rolls are not only mesmerizing to watch but also extremely tasty! There is also differentsushi ?platters? to fit all budgets. This was our 1st time visiting this spot and never have I ever had such a beautiful presentation of Sushi before! I was amazed.... Everything on the tree bark tray was edible including the flower and so beautifully arranged. We ordered the "Big mouth biteroll" *I believe that was the exact name* and we ordered the mango tango roll. Both rolls were so good with the perfect amountof spicy kick. The place was clean and the waitress was so nice. The chef was so nice as well and made sure to speak when weentered and left which was very warm and welcoming. Hands down the best sushi spot in the area (and in the surrounding areas). I wasn't expecting it to be so great, but the... reviews are spot-on. We tried a couple different items - California Roll, Wonder Salmon Roll, Alaskan Roll (not pictured, Iordered it to-go), and Love Roll. Everything was amazing and fresh. Of the four we tried, I highly recommend the Wonder SalmonRoll; it was delicious. I want to try a lot more things, so I plan on making the trip (about 40 minutes) several more times inthe near future. It's absolutely worth the drive. The place is small, but clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Ihonestly can't say enough great things about this place and I absolutely highly recommend it. It has a large enough menu thateveryone will find something they like. Also, a neighboring table ordered the Love Boat and it looked so pretty that I asked ifI could take a photo... so, we did not order it nor try anything off it it; the photo was purely for its beauty and my Googlereview. I went with my friend today for the first time and we had an amazing experience! The staff were so friendly which made the... experience way better, especially our server Ali! She always checked up on our table and made sure we got all we wanted and shehad the best energy all around (Keep it up! :)) The food was so good! We got the lobster cigar for appetizer and it was one ofthe best things we?ve had in a while (Highly Recommend!). As of Sushi we got the spicy Cali Roll, I?m sorry honey roll, and theMSU roll and they were all equally good and fresh. This place is a must to try! Read more

Definitely will be back. Best Japanese/ Sushi place around! Server (Tyler) was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Food... came out fast and is priced fairly. Not busy at all. It's clean and set up well. Can't wait until I come back! Read more

My friend and I had planned to go to Black Pine Tree because a friend recommended it, but the wait was too long so we sat in our... car and looked for things nearby and came across this place and noticed the nice reviews. So we took a chance and went! It?s avery nice restaurant and love the decor and the back wall with waves on it. It was super nice yet had a homey vibe at the sametime. The owner/chef actually seated us and was super sweet! Our waitress Tiffany, was so nice and sweet as well. The prices aregood and the presentation was out of this world! We loved everything we got and I will definitely be returning! So glad we foundthis place on a whim! Read more

Wonderful sushi!! Ordered a bunch of rolls and some miso soup and it was all so delicious! I did a carry out this time, but... would like to sit and have a meal next time, as the inside looks cozy and cute. The staff and chefs were very friendly andhelpful as well!
