Before this place, I had only had 2 experiences with Indian food. It I was a little leary of trying this this place but went for... it. Multiple items on the menu sounded very good.. I ordered the vegetable Spring rolls. It came with a mint tamarind chutneysauce. Also got the Baingan Bharta (eggplant) dish, mild. They were both very good. The other places I had tried, I orderedmild and they were stupid spicy. This had the right amount of spice and flavor without being overpowering. Also tried thestuffed naan bread. Also have a full bar. Which opens at 4 PM. You can get drinks while sitting there and eating before the baropens. But it?s a separate little room for the bar. And it?s right next-door to a hotel if you?re just passing through and wantto stay for the night. Read more
Among the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to! FOOD: Malai Kofta (5 out of 5): This was among the best malai kofta I've... ever had. The veggie balls were perfect, and the creamy sauce was full of flavor. Veggie Pakhora (5 out of 5): Perfectlycrisp, and I really liked the tamarind sauce. Fish Pakhora (5 out of 5): Crisp outside, and very soft and flakey fish on theinside. Spiced very well. Lamb Vindaloo (4.5 out of 5): Tender chunks of lamb in a deep and rich dark curry. Mixed Grille(4.5 out of 5): An assortment of meats sizzling hot on the cast iron platter. The lamb and Salmon were my favorite. Comes witha creamy tomato-based sauce for dipping, similar to malai kofta sauce. Shrimp Biryani (4 out of 5): I personally tend to go forthe curries, but this was an excellent biryani. Garlic Naan (5 out of 5): I think every indian meal should have garlic naan togo with it! Super crisp and delicious. Read more
Best Indian food we've had in a while. Everything was delicious. The food was delivered in a timely manner and our waitress was... great. We will be coming back again and again. The diner is very clean, inside and out. I walked in as though i had no knowledge of indian cuisine. I was greeted with warmth... as I first came in by the amazing staff. I had set up a reservation on google maps. The staff was very knowledgeable aboutasking me the right questions and then came the good. Very delicious!! Authentic and absolutely delicious!!! Food was really good. It was in the middle of nowhere and as we were traveling north, we were very amazed to find an Indian... restaurant there in Tehachapi. Staff was really nice. And we ordered Gobi Manchurian for appetizer, paneer tikka masala, aloonaan and plain naan. We liked their spice level and the quantity. Would highly recommend. We would like to come back again! My husband and I are truck drivers from Canada. We were craving a real meal. We've never eaten Indian food so didn't know what... to order. The waiter was WONDERFUL to guide us into some dishes that we would be able to handle. He was a younger gentleman andso knowledgeable about the menue and foods flavors. He refilled our glasses the moment they were empty. The food camebeautifully displayed and very hot! That flavors were very good multiple levels to every bite. A beginning, middle and end. It's been awhile since I've had really good Indian food. I was so excited when I heard Tehachapi was getting a Indian... restaurant. It is absolutely the best I've ever had. So much flavor, the naan was perfect. My son is very very picky about hisfish. His words it was cooked perfectly flaky and not a over cooked mess. He had the appetizer and absolutely loved it.
