I had to wait to get home, and be medically pulled out of a "Coma", from devouring most of this chicken fried steak. The only... gripe I have is 1.no debit/charge capabilities. 2.a wee bit slow on service. Friendly, but a little slow. The service industryquickly chews up non worthy people and spits them out. Old Jody is a solid burger and steak independently owned restaurant. Service was fine if a bit hurried. The menu has a nice mix... of burgers, steaks, even seafood. I was not in a burger mood so I had popcorn shrimp which was fine if not spectacular. Isuspect that burgers and steaks might be more their focus. I reserve fives for truly spectacular and enjoyable places. If Ilived locally I would probably eat here periodically just for variety. If you were looking for something different than thestandard corporate owned restaurants give Old Jody's a try. Read more
First time eating here and we had a lovely lunch. When we walked in it was busy and luckily we found a table, but we noticed... that everyone just sits with one another until the tables fill up. I thought that was nice because it makes you feel like you?reone big family. I got the chicken fried steak and my husband got a Jody?s burger. It was delicious, and those rolls are the bestI?ve ever had!! I would recommend this place to everyone and we will be back again! Old Judy?s Restaurant is a staple in Temple! It feels like the equivalent of a Cheers bar but for food. I can?t believe I hadn?t... been before. The servers have been there for a long time and are great ladies. I got the chicken fried chicken which was prettygood. My salad was 2-3 meals but not just an abundance of food-it was tasty! The grilled chicken is well-seasoned and I loved their... ranch dressing. My bf said his burger was good but he could only eat half. Read more
Awesome burger. Kids loved the chili Frito pie and the BLT. Husband loved the chicken fried steak and Mac n cheese. Chocolate... molten cake with ice cream was delicious, too. Seating was quick but there was a long wait for the meal, even after the lunchrush on a weekday. Read more
