VERY good Thai food. Don't be fooled by the modest storefront entrance onto a "to-go" counter. Turn left and go up 3 steps to... a dining room with a picture window. The curries are delicious, with full, robust flavors. The chicken in the Panang curry wasmelt-in-your-mouth tender. Attentive service with a smile. This is by far the best restaurant in Temple, Texas. The Pad Thai at Thai Cafe is the best one in town. With just the right... amount of spice, a sweet seasoning that will enchant your palate, carefully picked ingredients not commonly found everywhere,such as duck, or soft shell crab, and a portion that's quite filling; their pad thai stands above all others around. The currieshave a perfect aroma and are not generic in the slightest, each having very definitive characteristics that can bring pleasingfeelings of comfort. The owners are always around taking care of the place, and are very nice people. The service may take awhile sometimes but the attendants are all very courteous and kind; they always have a smile on their faces. The atmosphere isvery comforting and casual. The menu is occasionally updated, and some amazing new options are added as time goes on; I'drecommend the Khao soi for those who enjoy curry and egg noodles. Regarding drinks, this restaurant also doesn't leave much tobe desired, as they not only have the classics like Thai tea, or Thai coffee, but also have a coconut smoothie that isperfection in a cup. Thai Cafe also has quite the affordable prices compared to other similar restaurants, and a lunch special(from 12:00pm to 2:00pm) depending on the ordered dish, thus making the whole experience overall better, as you're getting goodquality food for a good price.
