This place is called "Jersey Mike's" for a reason. The sandwiches are supposed to mimic an east coast favorite past time, a... "Hero" or "Sub". When I say the sandwich that cost me $17 was TRASH!!!!!!. Let's start with entry to the restaurant. I observedthe sandwich maker put on gloves then proceed to clean the surfaces with a towel and touching doors and handles behind thecounter. He then tried to make my sandwich without changing his gloves. I asked him to change his gloves and he said "I justchanged them but I don't mind changing them again". I decided on the basic #7 Turkey and cheese. And it was extremely bland andlackluster. "Jimmy John's" is Mos Def running circles and Jersey Mike's. This is a complete embarrassment for New Jersey and thesandwich spot should just be called "Mike's" Also I asked the young man to wrap my sandwich tight in the paper before cuttingand for some reason, he couldn't comprehend. As someone married to a Jersian, you put way too much oil and vinegar on your sandwich. My husband has ruined several shirts... because of the oil dripping on them when he goes to take a bite. Big men's t-shirts are not cheap! So the heavy hands!!! Also,the tall bearded man making sandwiches, how about covering your hair and beard? No one wants a hair in their sandwich! Read more
Not my usual location but I stopped here to grab a quick sandwich. Being a former multi unit area manager Im a real stickler for... Customer Service, Food handling and sanitation. I walked into the location and no one spoke which I found was odd and 2 othercustomers came in after me and they where not spoken to as well. Not a typical Jersey Mike experience but I also noticed thiswas a new location so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. It took almost 5 minutes of about 4 employees looking at me beforesomeone took my order. Keep in mind it was not busy. There was a big guy working there with tattoos on his arm that constantlytook his hat off and played in his hair numerous times without washing his hands right in front of me and the other guest andjust slapped on gloves dealing with ready to eat food which in my former state will get you shut down with the health inspector.That's when I noticed none of the employees had on name tags. While I waited for my order to be prepared I looked around andnoticed only one person was Serv Safe certified in the store. So none of the PIC's(Person in charge) has a certification ???Health code practices really need to be worked on and coached to the employees and I would recommend hair nets Im not sure howstrict Texas health inspectors are. My husband Jerry and I took advantage of the coupon we received in the mail..buy one giant sub and get regular sub free, along... with a free drink and bag of chips this afternoon. WOW what a deal. First off the workers and management were especially nice,and courteous. The subs were awesome..so delicious. We have enough leftover for us both to have subs for lunch tomorrow. As weare retired and living on a fixed income, this is a deal wonderful for us. Amount for this bargain ..4 meals+tax+tip=$21.00.Love it. Read more
